dont disagree about the situation but horse so fantastic you all had to see him. how long did it take to train one wonders ?

I really did not expect that!
Lovely lovely horse, absolutly amazing but I am quite in shock about the so called sport.....and they banned foxhunting because they said it is cruel!!!!

Omg... I had to turn that off half way through because I just couldnt watch anymore..
Your all entitled to your own opinions, but my opinion is that it is SICK. Especially training a horse to do such a thing, absolutely disgraceful these people should be lynched..

Thats made me really angry, thanks to the original poster...

TBH im more inclined to say that aside from the actual sport involved, the horse and rider seem to work amazingly together.. I know I for one, could never get a horse to be as responsive like that.

If the horse and rider made one false move there obv would of been wounds but the horse must of trust that rider implictly: he definatly didnt try to run out of the area or buck the rider off.

Yes the horse is amazingly responsive but im disgraced that this can be called a "sport" I am also was sceptical about some of the methods that SOME people in spain use to train there horses over there..
I agree that one false move would result in painful wounds, doesnt seem worth it in my eyes, its pointless and cruel. Why arent these sports being banned over there???

cruel cruel 'sport', if it was'nt a bull, something like a large cat and a wild dog we would all have a fit. The horse is amazing lovley moves, but then agen what happens if one of them gets caught by the bull bet that would make a mess. its cruel to the horse and the bull .

FREE THE BULLS !!!!!

horses die in equestrian sports-where do you draw the line? these horses have been bred for close combat and subsequently bullfighting for centuries they are bold, agile and built for the job, the horsemanship leaves me breathless.
of course, have never come across a cruely treated horse from the UK.......

That horse is amazing. My gob was well and trly open watching that. What i wouldn't do for a sit on him.
Wouldn't mind being able to ride like that either

The horse is beautiful and incredible and I wish I could ride as well as that guy BUT it would only take one slip and the horse would be dogmeat. I remember years ago seeing a dreadful documentary about bullfighting in which the horses were badly gored. The narrator said they had their vocal chords cut so they couldn't scream. Look at this : http://www.actionagainstpoisoning.com/page13/page47/bullfighthorseabuse.html

sorry to hijack your post, BTW

Yes horses die in equestrian sports from all over the world, which isnt intentional, just as this bullfighting isnt. But to me this is really putting the horses to test if the horse makes one mistake, thats it they've had it. In the common UK equestrian sports the horse has room for a mistake and it is often not fatal.
I dont agree with bullfighting in anyway at all so we are never going to see eye to eye. Cruelty cases are all over the world, I think bullfighting should be banned because it IS pointless and cruel.. What is the intention of it? other than for some sick people to watch for entertainment, at the expense of a bull's life which is barbarically killed and pretty much tortured.

After reading the link I am even more disguisted that you are sticking up for the sport

It says its 'commonly believed' that they have there vocal chords taken out- and also alot of bull fights seem to have the horses blindfolded- this one doesnt so im not sure if there are different types?!

I adore that partnership - they really do move beautifully together and the horse absolutely loves its job. Doma Vaquera is one of the most exhiliarating things to do, I do miss it!

Please do not make this into an anti bullfighting thread - just watch the horse and rider work together - bull-fighting is an art.

thanks and well said weezy, the time and effort that has gone into training this horse would make it too valuable to waste and also the animal rights lobby might watch this nd bear in mind that high school dressage was developed from the SPANISH school which used the movements originally designed by the military.....and the gauchos who had to herd these animals with out getting squashed gored or worse as part of their working life. while i agree there is no place for bull fighting in the modern world cant we just admire the beauty of horse and rider as one?
