People tend to adore PF or just think she's not worth the bother. Conversely, hardly ANYone likes Antifaz, but I think that's probably because no one has taken the trouble to get to know him.
I think PF is wonderful. I adore her but I know I'm probably blinkered in my adoration of her. HOWEVER the people whose opinion I respect the most think she's pretty marvellous too (and it's not just because they like her that I respect their opinion!)
A few days ago someone came to give me a lesson on PF. He's had his eye on her for a while and told me she was 'sensational' *insert warm glow*. He wasn't NEARLY so complimentary about my riding!
blush.gif

The Other Instructor thinks I'm wasting my time with her (apparently I could be a very good rider on a different horse - I think that's a stupid comment -either you're a good rider or not!
mad.gif
) and even the Bossy Old Fart thought I'd be better off with something calmer and steadier. He now thinks differently.
Anyhoo, does everyone think your horse is as lovely as you do? Do they keep their opinions to themselves? Do they criticise and try to put you off your darling beastie?? And if you DID get advised to get rid, and DIDN'T, how did that work out for you??

Everyone always called Jasper the "ugly one" bless him, but I liked him
laugh.gif

and people say Pinky was a stroppy cow, but she was really sweet if you got to know her

my pony has a fan club
laugh.gif

so i cant be the only one who thinks hes a supastar
grin.gif

as for my horse... well, thats another matter entirely
tongue.gif

Mine either get's referred to as a girl or as a donkey! On the whole though he is quite well liked at first sight as he's friendly over the stable door and is quite pretty!

I know I'm biased in thinking that Chex is a star lol
smirk.gif
. He does seem to be one of those ponies that everyone loves, not sure why
confused.gif
. There are those that look down on him, but they soon shut up when he out ran them, out jumped them and behaved sensibly at the same time
smirk.gif
(in his younger days!).

I remember my old YO saying to me years ago (when I was riding one of her younsters) that this was the sort of horse I should be moving onto now
mad.gif
, as if Chex was a "first horse" to be moved on from - really annoyed me.

The person I used to share Sparks with gave up their share saying 'she's a bully and thug!!
shocked.gif
'. This person is the exception as most people really like her and kids are aways attracted to her as she is sooo gentle with them.

every one likes my lad, even walkers out hacking, normally get comments of 'god he is huge' !! but people do annoy me when they call him a boring cob. They expect him slow and ploddy and boring. He is for his working week, but when out hacking with me he is a little bugga and tanks off for no reason as well as bucking. Shame they never see it - would prove them cobs are NOT boring !!!

Everyone I know love ben to bits, I think its because he is a gentle giant. And he is rather handsome
laugh.gif

I always have people coming up asking to buy him so they must like him?
I had the same with my coloured I used to have, Would be at shows and people would come and ask if she was for sale. Yes my head is getting rather big now
tongue.gif

Everyone loves my horse for his looks and build...he is an extremely pretty Welsh D with all the 'look at me' looks and presence. But they all say less flattering things about his personality and how he is! I don't care though...I know he is 'tricky' and can be terribly tempermental...but then most Welshies are and I think people around me just don't know the breed very well temperament wise.
People around me said I should of got rid from day one because of his difficulties and attitude...as they called it. An instructor once had me in tears by saying she hated his difficult attitude, had never liked him and he would never do anything for me or take me anywhere...cow!
But me and him have a great relationship and against all these odds we have such fun doing what we are both comfortable doing...he is a great character and friend and we look after each other...so I don't care what people say and to top it all he is the best looking horse in the area and has great breeding lines...yes I am smug!!!!!

My family absolutley hated Dolly when I got her, and they thought I should have sent her back the moment she got off the lorry. I think people at shows think the same thing until she starts jumping in the ring. She definalty is a horse that you shouldn't judged by a first impression.

My farrier thinks my horse is a "cracking sort". He doesn't really like any horses, so from him that is a major compliment! My YO/instructor loves my horse too, she thinks she is (was) just perfect for me. She's not everyone's cup of tea, being stocky and very laid-back, but no-one actually dislikes her (well the one person I thought would, actually doesn't). That does it for me!
Oh actually I can think of one person who dislikes her, and that's my old vet. Told me to "get rid of her" when he diagnosed her torn tendon. I got rid of him instead!

Everyone who met Hector thought he was something special, even my farrier who claims to hate all horses (god knows why he chose to become a farrier
tongue.gif
) loved Hector. He also loves Spooks, as does everyone who meets him, he has the same sort of special quality that H had I think.

Jerry on the other hand gets everyone going WOW but then they meet him properly and realise he is an arrogant so and so, who is far too good looking for his own good
grin.gif

I dont really know TBH. Not that many people really know my horse. Obviously I think shes perfect. My instructor likes her when she behaves, and her OH sneaks her carrots and looks after her like his own, so he must like her too.

A couple of people have said recently how rubbish me and Chum were in the school..

But when I think of how much he has taught me (my first pony) and how we hacked this morning on our own in the wind and rain and he didn't bat an eyelid or put a foot wrong I say STUFF THEM
grin.gif

Everyone who comes to my farm comments on how lovely my horses are. Always nice to hear but honestly not necessary as I know they are nice horses.
smile.gif

From what I've seen, I think I would like PF AND Antifaz - they both look great little horses in their own right.
smile.gif

im very lucky, everyone comments on mine's perfect conformation, handsome looks and paces etc etc, all visitors and judges and competitors etc. one judge recently said "i dont like coloureds or cobs but i would take him home with me today". i rode out with 4 new riding partners today who also commented on how handsome he is, i used to thrive on it but now find it a little embarrassing/humbling so just thank them very much and say how proud/lucky i am.

See, now YOU'RE one of the people whose opinion I really value
grin.gif

Have a look at A jumping in PG. He was a bit naughty but I rode him rather badly and even when he's p:ssing around a bit he jumps his socks off
smile.gif

Nobody likes either of my horses!!!
frown.gif

Both appear sweet on the surface, but are real demons. My mare has major strops from time to time. My gelding is fairly sweet on the ground, but is a sod to ride. Everyone likes them at first, until they get to see the whole picture!!!

Ah well, I love them to BITS!!!
laugh.gif

Oh cool. I'll pop down there quickly to look.

I think they are both really nice horses; quite different but each have their own beauty and charm. Obviously PF's is far more noticeable than Antifaz's
wink.gif
smile.gif
.

I think its only me who likes my horses!
crazy.gif

When my mum brought me Gypsy, everyone at the yard said she was dangerous (she was quite strong), was no good for a 10 year old (me) and should be shot. She was an angel with me though- but a cow for anyone else!

Septre is apparently a useless cross (cob-type x arab)- this from the people who used the same stallion on their welsh x mare, and would never be good for anything.
confused.gif

I think most people would like Amber to be shot, and Jethro is often described as ugly.
frown.gif

Good job I do not really care what anyone else thinks about my horses. I do need to work on finding friendier yards though LOL
blush.gif

I'm really lucky in that pretty much everyone seems to love my horse - even though he's a fizzy chestnut Arab stallion (not normally everyone's cup of tea LOL).
wink.gif

He's been universally loved all his life - spotted and immediately bought as a foal by an international Arab show-judge, in partnership with 2 other breeders. They were totally besotted with him. (He wasn't for sale - I had to beg and plead to be allowed to buy him as a 2yo.)

Other show judges love him too, and give him big championships. The vet who did his five-stage vetting rang me up to gush about how perfect he is. I keep him at a stud/eventing yard where he's the only Arab, and they all adore him.

Oh, and breeders must like him too cos he was the most popular first-season Arab stally in the UK this year - even exporting frozen semen to big breeders in Europe!

Even though he's a 'show Arab', one of the leading Arab racehorse trainers has booked her best racing mare to him. And a lot of Sport Horse breeders are v keen on him too, although he's not even backed yet, let alone proven under saddle.

I am of course totally in love with him. He does have rather too high an opinion of himself - but hey, can you blame him, with all this adulation he gets?
crazy.gif

OK - there are a few people who don't like him - people who really can't stand Arabs, or who don't like the modern show-Arab type, or who find him too noisy and excitable... but I can live with that - they are entitled to their opinion.
smile.gif

People always say that Lady is very pretty, but when they get to know her personality they find out that she is a stroppy cow! Nobody ever volenteers to ride her, so that shows me what people think of her.

Dont really know what people think of Billy a friend saw him the other week for the first time and couldn't get over how pretty he was. ( Dont think Billy would like to be called pretty.....Handsome he would like!!)
I dont seem to care what people think as i know what my horses are like and thats all that counts.
