Im a commited solo hacker !Haha i have found people comment about me hacking myself im pretty much used to it im not sure if its people worrying about my ability thinking ive been out too long.......

Noone wants to hack out with me and the horrid one. LOL
I love hacking on my own and used to dissapear for hours on Lucy. I'm gone for hours on Herbie but i never actualy go very far. :p ;) :D.

People on my yard say i am brave, none of them ride out unless they are boxing somewhere so i am always on my own. I don't mind most of the time, but i would love some company sometimes

I love hacking out on my own as my horse gos alot better although he can be a bit spooky on his own and a bit of a d***head. However I also like to go out and have a massive chat with mates, only my horse can be a bit of a donc in this situation which annoys me because really he's not. I do like to sitll "ride" however when out and I notice that most pople don't which is OK but I get asked to slow down to donc speed instead of Medium walk which again is annoying.

Very committed solo hacker! I've also actually had a few people stop riding with me because Kelly tends to wind the other horse up and then its like tit for tat and we never settle them! :o:o I do hack sometimes now with Kelly's 1st mum and Pebbles, the chestnut mare, but more often than not, I'd pootle out on my own (when Kelly was fit).
I've had a few comments, but I don't know whether its because people question my riding skills or whether they're simply curious as to whether I get bored etc or not??

I've always hacked out alone and I get the same type of reactions. It's always baffled me - it's not like I'm going off into the wilds of Antarctica. The most likely mishap to occur is that I'd fall off somewhere and have to walk back since my mare would most likely hurry back to her stall without me.

I'm also a confirmed solo hacker. I love going out with just me and my horse. I acquired the habit 20 odd years ago when I had an arabX that loved to go for miles and I still go solo as a first choice most of the time. My OH has taken to coming with me though since the Highland is now backed and riding out. Nice now and again but I still prefer going solo.

Nope, hacking alone is the norm round here! I'm always out adventuring on my own in the summer sun :)

Only comments I get is when I'm seen coming back on whatever one's we have in who don't hack out alone! But even then the comments are only like

'Oh! Well I see he/she hacks out now....' LOL.

When i had my first horse a few years ago now i ALWAYS hacked alone.

Especially after a stressful day at work, just being alone with my boy on the moors peace and quiet, the world and its stresses seemed so far away - i loved it

Am an anti social bugger rnt i :)

:( sniff sniff no choice but to hack alone as on my own at home and no-one else to ride out with nearby. I have always been used to hacking alone but LOVE it when i do get to go out with others. It's so much more fun when you can have a good old natter!!! ;)

Only been riding two years and assumed that riding on your own was something everyone did.
Wouldn't do it any other way now. Its nice to ride with someone else occasionally but only for the competitive element in the gallop!

Done loads of hacking on my own, was out for 8.5 hours one day first time I took him on holiday to yorkshire, got lost a bit and didn't know the area at the time.

Got a hacking friend now at the yard I have moved to, so dont hack solo quite so much, but now I have the opportunity of a cross country field, show jumping field and menage with optional jumps ect as well, I have changed my riding a bit and making the most of the facilities and having jumping lessons,
so not hacking quite as much as I did .

i usually end up haking alone which i find a bit borng after a while as theres nobody to talk to and my pony tends to mess arund more sometimes i hack out with a girl down the road but at a max of once a week and i sometime have a lesson on the road as my pony used be very naughty and take off down the road:( at one stage my mum or dad would walk around with me until i gt more confident cos after falling off on the road i lost alot of confidence

i love to hacking alone at our yard there are people who only hack out with certain people as most people keep themselves to themselves but with three seperate yards on the same estate owned by the same person you rarely see many people hacking out with others, unless its kids, but still it isnt really the norm, plus i hack with my ipod in :D or with my best friend :D

I love hacking alone, you can go where you want, when you want and for how long you want and the pace you want.
My arab i had as a kid hated other horses so generally hacked alone unless i rode with the race horses. But otherwise he would buck out or just generally prat about.
We hacked for hours a day (he was mega fit)!!
Was a shock to the system when i got my last horse who was a nappy sod and so i had to hack out in company.
It is nice to chat but because of my job i often dont finish work till after people have ridden so it was really restrictive.
Went out for a hack on a horse belonging to a lady down the road as i put mine out on loan at the weekend.....my goodness it was lovely to go for a nice hack (albeit wet and windy) alone and knowing that i would actually get round the hack without a fight.

Its nice to hack in company now and then....but alone i think is more fun, then if i want to gallop in a field.....i can and i will :-D

I really don't think it's illegal!!! It's certainly the norm around here. It's not that unusual to hack alone on one and lead another. Don't do it myself but know many who have. I just find myself singing to my horse whan I hack alone. The other week the track was really dusty so I decided I was a cowboy and sang "I was born under a wanderin star" to him but he got all upset and spooky so I had to stop!! Dosn't say much for my singing.
