Do people ever do 'swaps'???

I was just wondering if any of you have ever done a horse swap? how did it come about??
I think i am maybe being a bit silly in thinking i may find someone who would be willing to do one???
Although my pony is wonderful - i often think he would be better suited to a teenager, I am getting to the point where i think i am a tad over horsed.
so:
14.2hh Sec D showjumper. 100% any traffic hacks in company - beautifully schooled, flashy. 100% handle, load farrier catch ect. Great fun ride!
BUT can buck! Not head down get off me bucks - but excited bucks, and is sometimes spooky.

I swapped a four year old which we had bred, for which I was too big and my daughter was too small for a big lumpy cob. Good deal though.

my boss swaps horses with other people all the time, i think she is in the process of swapping our donerhall 2year old with a grade A sj.

A livery that use to be up at our yard did loads of swaps with various horses. Every time was a good experience. She had a mare for her daughter that was too quirky and she was over horsed, swapped her for a steadier chap as the person that owned him was bored of him and wanted a challenge! Worked out well all round!

Obviously remove rose tinted glasses, and go into any swap with your eyes wide open, make sure the horse ticks all of your boxes, as sometimes it's better the devil you know and wait until the perfect opportunity arises! xx

I'm trying to sell my horse at the mo, very beautiful but a tad too quirky for me. Typical TB! After an 8 yr break from riding buying her wasn't my best idea to date!!

I'm looking to swap for something smaller and quieter! I've put her on horseswap so fingers crossed it works for me.
