That paper gives you weight vs age, nowhere does it say that the 450kg yearling was 17hh and at a year old I doubt it.
I've never put a stick on Alf, but I suspect he isn't as big as I think he is. He was sold to me as 17hh-ish. I reckon he's under 17hh, although I could be wrong, as he has high withers, and is very short in the back, so looks more compact than perhaps he is.
I may try and measure him this weekend - if I can do it without him having heart failure. He's never been beaten with a measuring stick in his life, but you can bet your life he'll act like he has been!
I read that as 'he thinks he is 17hh ish)
See the only think I know is a lot of people with 16.2s that are just kidding themselves that they don't have a 17hander.
