I have a gelding who injured his DDFT and has been on field rest for a long time. I really need to get him back into work and loaned out as I can't keep paying for him to laze around stuffing his face!
I obviously need to bring him back into work slowly and thinking perhaps 3-4 months to get him hacking fit provided the tendon holds up.
He is currently on resting field livery a long way away and if I bring him back I really don't want to get stuck with mucking out and paying for hay/bedding over the winter.
So question is, do people take on loans in Oct/Nov time? It would really only be for hacking as I don't want to risk damaging the tendon again with jumping etc
