My OH and I have been discussing getting another horse, with a view to him learning to ride on it. We'd be looking at this as a short-term ongoing thing.

Anyway, we'd be looking for a 16hh weight carrier (OH is about 13stone and heavier as novice) something that will enjoy hacking and lessons but nothing harder than that. Older preferably I guess and something that is easy to do and a good doer.

Is that something people are likely to go for?

I know some people are or will be struggling going into winter and with enough acres at home, we are well poised to have another here.

Thoughts on whether it would suit anyone??

I would have thought so, a lot of people probably don't have the time to ride in winter because of daylight.

I used to have a pony on winter loan from a riding school when I was a kid.

I have a big mare who sounds like she's what you're looking for. However, she's only been lightly backed so would be a bit of a project.

I'm pregnant so my OH has banned me from doing any more with her.
