I may be becoming a member of da spangle massive here :)

I need to know if they cast a lot - I want to keep it indoors and can't have something that sheds hair like there's no tomorrow. I don't mind a bit, but I don't want a snow drift on the sofa.

Either springer or cocker :)

I have researched the breed and know what their training and exercise requirements are and since I already have a nutty lab who lives outside, another nut should fit in nicely :)

I was due to be getting a pup of the non-shed variety (bichon) but that may not be happening since he has a heart murmur.

Thanks for any replies

My personal experience is that Henry sheds less than our old lab used to, even before I clippered him off. Not sure if this is because he actually sheds less, or just that he is a smaller dog and therefore has less fur to spread around:D

To say that they don't shed at all would be a lie...but they don't shed much. However, I do have a few that are good coated ones for handstripping that seem to drop hair just by looking at it funny. But on the whole, they are generally rather low moulting as a breed, particularly if they are kept clipped.

Mine didn't shed much, but after producing a gonk coat after being spade, we tried having her clipped this year and its been fantastic for her and the carpet lol and she is not nutty
