Do things like this pi$$ you off, or is it just me?

I agree - it really annoys me when people over work young horses/ ponies which could be really good. I don't disagree with backing/breaking a 3.5 year old but wouldn't start jumping till it is at least 4 and then only gently.

that is too much too soon, jumping 3ft at 3yrs old is ridiculous, poor young cob, he is a lovely animal and is being over worked too young by the looks of it, i hope he does not end up with problems later on because of it, highly likely though

This is sometime that really bugs me. I agree with you Sunny08. I start to back at 3 then they get turned away for 6mth to a year depending on the horse. One of her other vids show her other 3 yro doing half pass and shoulder in and galloping flat out on the beach (3 YEARS OLD!) She can ride and school well but I just think this is way to young...OK rant over!

You know BSJA run 4 year old classes, so if one wanted to compete in this class at what age should they back the horse and start jumping it? The week before the show or maybe back at 3 and start jumping at 3?
I'm not saying what this girl is doing is completely right, I would prefer to see her jumping in a school with a softer surface but I don't think she is doing horrendous damage to the horse, the fence is 3ft, the horse is not falling from a great height into it's leg, tbh it's barely lifting, it's more snapping it's legs out the way of the fence and ever so slightly projecting upwards.
At sports horse sales they will be jumping horses over 5ft fences at 3 to show what it can do, I would say that was worse than what this girl is doing.
I am prepared to be shot down but it's my opinion

It's not just the legs, it is the back as well. At sport horse sales they are generally jumping on a surface, this pony is being jumped on grass so much more of a risk to it. Plus you have the added weight of the rider. I did see an advert on horsemart a while ago with a 2 year old being ridden over a jump. - Now that is stupid!

Totally agree. And for what it is worth I have seen much worse. This girl may be young and immature about horses but he is well looked after. Personally I cannot see why there is so much fuss. She's a kid having fun on her pony!

Neither can I to be honest; providing she is careful and doesn't overdo it, I would think the pony will be just fine. I am not a cob fan, but that really is a lovely cob, with a heck of a spring in his step!

And Silverspring, I thought you didnt comment on other peoples horses?

Is the horse for sale? Er no! So how could my comments on the video be defammtory? There is also the fact that I said nothing nasty about the girl or the horse so even if she was trying to sell it I wouldn't have been making defammatory comments. You can post stalk me if you like but you will find I DO comment on peoples pics and video, I DO comment on adverts when I LIKE what I see and I DO provide support and encouragement where it is asked for. What I won't do is tell someone that the horse they are going to look at has shocking confo, as I've said before I was told off for it and now realise why it's not fair to do.

PS Being with Mayflower and Tia on their opinion means agreeing with me, you sure you don't want to change your mind? Heaven forbid we actually saw eye to eye on something
