weve got a 3yr old at the yard that is lame and has a pulse in her pastern, YO/owner is away on holiday, i thought it was puss in the foot coz she is lame when turning and when there was mud packed in her foot. farrier came this morning and said she is tender all the way round the foot so he thinks its bruised or possibly the start of puss but there isnt just one spot of pain so to keep an eye on her. do u get a pulse with a bruised foot.

Yeah - horse on our yard had raised digital pulse when he had bruise / abscess.
Are you worried about laminitis?

Yes, you do. If its an abcess brewing that may also explain the not just one place of soreness.

Are there pulses in all four feet?

tbh most horses (esp. barefoot) have them at this time of year, mine has them and I'm not overly worried, just feeding a tonne of mag-ox to help lower them! (well okay, not quite a tonne but enough!)

yes i am, i have bought her in onto the winter sand paddock as shes been on very nice grass and is abit cresty but if she doesnt improve il get the vet out to rule it out.
