Do unaffilliated racing or hurdle competitions exist?

Hi,

I'm close to giving up SJ'ing with my girl as neither if us are enjoying it and we don't seem to be getting far. That means my plans to event her are out the window. I plan to do a bit more dressage with her in the next few months but this isn't really her forte either and I would like to do something a bit more exciting.
So... I was wondering if there were some low level racing or hurdle competitions out there?
We've pretty much exhausted the local hunter trials and XC courses.
She's of unknown breeding, although I'm pretty sure she's a full TB, so can't be anything under rules. I was thinking about pointing but it all looks a bit massive and not sure if they need to be a TB? I don't think either of us have the guts to go much above 3 ft really.

Let me know if you have any suggestions. I don't want to just hack and do dressage and I don't want to get rid of her either. We just need to find her speciallity....which so far seems to be going fast and jumping mediocre sized jumps:)

Thanks for reading.

Hi,
Thanks for the replies.
I know of someone who races an Arab x TB so there must be some races not under rules? Maybe I'll try and contact her.
Not heard of flapping racing. Will look at jump cross but think she'll knock them all down as that's one of our issues with Showjumping (and the dirty stops). Not keen on endurance to be honest...I feel I might as well just go for a long hack.

Thanks anyway.

There is arab and anglo racing, governed by aro, overseen by the BHA, all horses are fully registered etc, so would suspect that would be out too.
I have found that endurance really freshens horses up, you would be surprised how much better they go in your chosen discipline afterwards.
I would suggest team chasing or hunting would be the only other options, or possibly looking for something more suitable.
