I lost my beautiful dog last month, after a long kidney problem, he was 10 yrs old and he was my best friend.
I still have my other dog and i love her dearly, but Troy was one in a million.
My husband wants us to get another dog, but i'm not sure.
Echo seems ok without him, she is 6 mths younger and had always had him there.
Hubby seems to think she would benefit from having another dog, and as he's away all week he would feel better about me having a bigger dog as Echo is a Whippet cross and troy was an Akita.
Would introducing another dog upset Echo? or is it me not wanting to upset her?
We have looked at different breeds, Huskies for their size and presence and Black Russian Terriers for their guarding instinct and non agression.
I would'nt mind going to the local dogs home and find something there, so that is also an option.
I know i will love the new puppy and it will have a great life with us as we will soon be moving to a farm, but i don't want to put Echo's nose out of joint...
What do i do?
