I poo pick my field religiously but the people to either side of me don't bother and won't be persuaded. Will the worms from their fields be wandering into my field or do they just stay put?

Sorry for sounding stupid

I was worried the little s*ds might be, how far? Could I fence off the edges of the field or would it be pointless

Well it really depends - I've never used a tape to measure the distance!

The fence would have to have teensy little holes or they could easily worm their way through!

Sorry.

I'm not sure I've ever heard of anyone researching how far the little blighters go...you could be the first?!
I suspect they won't travel all that far, so it's always worth poo picking (and it stops 'roughs' developing too, so you get better grass). If you are checking your horses' parasite levels by worm counts and/or worming, I'd probably not be that worried.

PS See - a relatively sensible answer!

Thank you S. I'm not going to stop poo picking because as you say I don't want rough areas to develop in my field. I do worm and worm count so I'm not worried, more annoyed. I'd like to be able to go onto a reduced worming programme but if they're crawling into my fields then I won't be able to.

Do you reckon I could get them to wear little radio trackers?

I was told the distance they can travel, but it is not too far. I really don't think you have anything to worry about.
