Do you always

well i go xc in a bp always and i hunt in one...some hats are expensive but if they r safe, u cant put a price on safety. my mum used to make me wear a bp for everything!!!yes everything!!...cos i was likely to fall off! supposedly
 
I compete in endurance and never even considered wearing a BP but I started competing with someone who always does. It's certainly made me think especially when we're galloping at speed over rough terrain (bogs/rabbit holes/hidden boulders). It's quite common for horses to fall and the thought of somersaulting onto a large boulder at 30kph isn't a pleasant one.

I've heard the Racesafe ones recommended by lots of different people (last BP I had was about 15 years ago and it was so uncomfortable I only wore it twice) so I'm going to get measured uop for one in time for next season.

ditto - my back protector reduces some of my movement and I need to know I can jumps what is expected of me on the day!
 
i know that i should wear mine all the time but i only wear it for XC and don't really bother for hunting because it doesnt fit very well under or over my jacket

Yes, always XC - Why pay out all that money and not wear it. It's like not wearing a hat, doesn't make any sense to me!!! Mine's not the comfiest, but once its been on for 5 mins I have to say I barely notice it, and certainly not once I'm jumping and concentrating.
