:p:p i decorate joka stable every year with some tinsel (i must add not done it yet not till 2 weeks before) and go on a Christmas ride with some tinsel on etc last year he even got a couple of presents all sweeties lol but it make me smile. i was told i was mad and what was the point a waste of time. does anyone else do this or just me :p i will put some pics up when its up

I know people probably think I'm mad but my horse both gets and sends presents from/to her stablemates! She also has a sign outside her stable door asking Santa to stop there!!

no they might not get it but i work long and hard and the horse is my wind down time and i enjoy making it all christmassy and it makes me smile. he loves the attention to glad i'm not on my own in my madness :D:D

Of course they do - all my animals are part of the family. In fact since my teenagers have gone all "cool" about Christmas the pets will be getting even more attention this year! The dogs have an advent calendar to share(doggy chocolate) and come running for their "choccy calendar" every morning. Dogs, cats and fish all have pressies under the tree. My lovely cob will have his stocking to unwrap at the yard. How do people get their horses to behave if they can't threaten them with Santa not coming if they are bad? Works for me every year!!

sounds like me i love all my animals they are my family along with my other half lol and we all have a great christmas and all get to open presents lol

Captain and Fany have stockings and receive presents. They also send presents to YO and her OH as they look after them when we aren't there. Cappy especially loves the YO's OH.
I know it is soft but they also get a Christmas meal, with a stalk of brussels, lots of fruit and some treats. Captain even gets an after dinner mint!

Of course my ned gets a christmas prezzie - It's christmas after all and it makes me feel happy and good even if ned doesn't understand !

My dog also gets a prezzie - a new toy and he's best prezzie of all time ...........his favourite squeaky toy wrapped up ! he unwraps it himself and the look of surprise when he see it's 'squeaky tiger' inside is total bliss ! makes me laugh every year without fail !!

Christmas prezzie to myself is then going for a really long hack out on christmas day with ned and the dog, both tinselled up, stopping at pub for a hot toddy and then poddling back home to a bed down ned in extra deep straw, a few extra treats for him - sprout stalks, carrotts etc and then heading home for hot mince pies curled up on sofa with dog and pink wine and a good film ! - bliss

Of course, how do you decorate your stable? I want to do it :)

I don't give presents as such , but dogs get raw chicken wings, cat does not care about treats, so she just gets a couple more hours in front of the fire, and horses get a few extra carrots and brussell left overs which they love, and if we have people who like parsnips they get those as well :)

i'm lucky as he does not chew tinsel but i put it on his door top and bottom either tape or blue tack or something similar i have a window at the back that gets some to anywhere really all depends if they chew it its great fun
