Yeap although i have forgot to a few times lol ... I usually just use tendon boots for flatwork and jumping, and either tendon and fetlock or bandages for lunging and hacking.
I boot for lunging, jumping and fast work, also occasionally for schooling depending on what I am doing. I am another who is paranoid about overheating so don't turn out in boots (unless out with a new horse) and don't use them for slow work or light hacking. Mostly just use tendon and fetlocks, or Sabre event boots for XC. Flops has never overreached <touches wood> so rarely bother with O/R boots.
I hate travel boots as they often slip so always bandage for travelling.
I agree with Janette. Horses shouldn't need to wear boots for 'natural' activities. They've got on perfectly well for centuries without them, and all over the world. Show me a Tzejk (sorry spelling has deserted me - the super endurance horses from Kirghizstan) or Mongolians, or working criollos, or carthorses wearing boots. Only put the boots on if there's a reason - like for travelling, barrel racing, reining, showjumping or any sport where abnormal strain is put on the legs, if your horse over reaches or on veterinary instruction. Our vet goes mad when he sees horses 'over-rugged, over booted, overfed'.
