Do You Care....

nope, I wear things that have holes, ingrained dirt etc. out to the yard. Out in my PJs in the morning, and at night if I want.
Never match, and I do hack out in odd things too!

i try to get clothes that match but on the odd days im up in whatever isnt in the washing pile! Also you may find me in a skirt and heels too if im on my way out which is about once a week lol!

LOL, I don't iron I tumble dry & put it on while it's still warm

When I lived in England, I always wore nice clothes, regardless of whether I was with the horses or not. I almost always wore nice breeches and my "clean" long leather boots to ride in. I was never ever scruffy and although nowadays I care less about what I wear (being warm is far more important out here), I still couldn't dress scruffy.....it's just not in my nature to wear holey, discoloured or tattered clothing.

I used not care at all, but I've changed over the years. Now I do care - don't go ott, but I try to be vaguely respectable (i.e. clean, if not matching at least not clashing!) For lessons I always try to look nice - usually matching saddlecloth and bandages, smart gilet, clean breeches and long boots.

I always match and everything I wear stays clean! I even wear matching socks, matching earwarmers etc!!

my friends say I was dipped in tethlon (sp) when I was born as I never get dirty!

And everything I wear at the yard is Joules, toggi etc!! Thats just me though I always have to match and co-ordinate!!!

I am usually smartish, if its chucking it down with rain and I know I will get covered in mud (our fields are very muddy) I will just put on jodhs from the day before though. But for some reason if they already have mud on them, even just a little bit they got straight in the wash.

I dont iron but usually look clean and coordinated

I tend to leave for the yard clean but come home a sweaty dirty mess!!
Never have had the iron near any of my yard clothes!
There's only the two of us at the yard and my friend is as bad as me. We laugh leaving the yard sometimes if one of us has to go into the shop on the way home!!!!

lol i dont care what i look like i suppose its because i always think they should know where i have been but i suppose they dont and think im a tramp! lol

I wear whatever is clean, but they are old clothes. Not all holey etc but just wouldn't be worn out anymore. All they're always ironed. Although wear so many layers and then bluson jacket over so you can't even tell!
laugh.gif
Wear only t-shirt and jods for lessons though as I always end up too wamr, but out hacking the layered look.

I went to the bar on Sunday (this was after dog walking though!) wearing skinny jeans, with Barbour wellie socks, pair of stripy wellies about 2 t-shirts a fleece and a scarf and blouson jacket. Although as it was middle of day wasn't too bad. The old regulars loooved my wellies though

I'm confused.....how do you guys manage to get so dirty and smelly? I am never dirty, my clothes AND me look just as clean when I go out to do the horses as they are when I return to the house...... and I have 25 horses under my care.

Depends on whats happened the night before!!
I have yard clothes that although are clean when i get there I care less about getting filthy.
Went down the other day in a suit (straight from work) and the two dogs at the yard who NEVER jump up promptly did so coating me in muddy foot prints. Sid then finished the job and snotted straight down my jacket. I swear the little buggers just KNEW!

I always care what I look like - I have NINE pairs of fullseat german breeches
shocked.gif
- and always have matching socks and jumpers/Tshirts. The Horses never ever exercize in anything that doesn't match and all their stuff is always clean.

I also always buy the best possible make I can so they and I always have designer stuff on!

I'm terrible but I love to look and feel good when I do my horses - I spend far too much time with them to wear old stuff!

I make some effort, even though my stable is only 50 yard from my house. I try and be reasonably clean and tidy but don't necessarily do the matching thing.

I wonder how many of the "tramp" dressers would confess to making a special effort if the vet or farrier is due......

I'm genuinely interested how you can "do" 25 horses and not end up covered in mud/shavings and slobber!

My horse is always clean but i am clean but tend not to match very well! Who cares really what they look like at the farm unless they are preparing for competitions??

Touche'

I just don't get dirty
crazy.gif
. I don't let horses loll all over me, I don't let them slobber on me or rub all over me. I've just come in from feeding, mucking out, haying and checking the warmth of all the horses and I looked under my longish finger nails and there isn't any dust, muck or grime LOL!! Mind you I do wear gloves
wink.gif
.

We don't have any mud so I guess that helps, but even so, when we did have mud in England I was still clean and didn't stink, LOL!!

Me too. My colleagues at work are used to tittering at me as I walk covered in bits of hay and the aroma of horse wee from mucking out on the way in - I do get changed once I am there though. the cleaner is now refusing to speak to me as she follows me round the building with a vacuum cleaner

It's rain!!! Is that what it could be? You see I never have hay hanging off me or attached to any of my clothing, but then I live in a dry climate. But then that wouldn't explain why I still don't have horsey crud all over me, LOL!!

I don't know how you do it! It doesnt matter how clean I am when I leave home I always leave the yard covered in shavings, muck under my finger nails, grit all over my face and in my hair from grooming and mud splattered up my jods. Thats not to mention the mud all over my top half from removing a sopping wet muddy turnout rug.

Tia, I think you are right, the rain defo doesn't help with being clean but I must say that even if it rains here, i'm still cleanish cos I have mucking out clothes and get changed to ride!

Lol what a coincidence i just did a massive clear out of my "horsey" clothes last night!!
Turns out that i have some very nice t shirts, joules rugby shirts etc plus 18 pairs of jods none of which are ever worn!!i live in an old fleece and jeans I cant resist buying nice stuff but it never gets worn!Im always so envious of the girls who swan around the yard without a hair out of place and looking very well groomed with co-ordinating outfits I dont know how but I just seem to attract mud Im always filthy!!Though saying that in all other aspects of my life i would be considered glamorous and dare i say it- high maintanence!!- Im a clothes addict and apperance is extremely important in my job so i love going down the yard to unwind and not care what i look like!
