Pointless post but it's my birthday so I will if I want to

Just wondered how many of you actually know when your horses birthdays are and whether or not you 'mark' the occasion.

I myself don't as they don't give a fig one way or the other so why should I?

I don't know Meg's or Chloe's birthdays, and am not really sure of their ages - there is 6 months discepency for meg between the vet's guess and the dentist, and Chloe is either 15 or 16.

I wouldn't celebrate it even if I did know - they get spoilt rotten most days anyway.

And a banner that he was not too impressed with

Last year on his 8th he just got a load of carrots, lots of cuddles and a day off

Happy Birthday to you!

Yes, I foolishly celebrate my horses birthdays!!

They get extra treats and cuddles, which they're totally non-plussed by. I once read that at a big yard they got their horses bramley apple pies with custard on their birthdays, so I did the same. No bugger would eat them! Ungrateful wretches!!!

Firstly....

Happy birthday to you...

Happy birthday to you...
(sung in a wonderful tone of course)

Yes we do celebrate Oscars birthday, well its actually Oscars "purchaseday" coz we dont know when he was born. We know roughly how old he is so have a little sing song for him. We make a cake out of a bit of feed, carrots and molasses and he loves it!

(How sad do I sound now Ive just re-read all that - o well!

I have 2 TB's, they are like the queen in that they have their official birthday and the day they were born, Emerald is 22 of April (quite late for a TB) and Sovereign is 22 of June (Freakishly late, enough said

) Touchy being from Ireland has whatever birthday I want her to have!!

I dont give him any extra treats but have taken a picture of him on his b'day every year. The pics are quite interesting as he was only 3 when I got him, it's nice to see how he's developed over the last few years.

Ralph is a rescue so I know nothing of his parenting/b'day, so I say the day I took him on is his birthday and every year he gets a birthday badge and card, along with other treats and some guinness, gets that at Christmas too

Happy Birthday!

I know when all the Birthdays are, I can just never remember and other than a "Oh so and so is 18 today, or was that last week?" it doesn't get a mention. Poor devils, what a horrible life they have

I am a bad parent

Actually, I forget ALL birthdays, husbands, daughters, mine, and as for anniversaries

I write them on the calender and then forget to look.

Happy Birthday!
I used to make a fuss of my old horse on her birthday which she bore with polite distance until eventually she took me to one side and told me that it's not the done thing in equine circles, and could I please s** off and stop embarassing her.
So now I celebrate it...but by going out for a meal with my OH or anyone handy!
Any excuse for a celebration.
And thanks for reminding me - it's my cat's 19th birthday in a few days....and cats do celebrate...with fish...

Happy birthday! And we don't know coco's birthday or even the month but he gets lots more carrots than usual on the 'anniversary' of when we got him
tongue.gif
and christmas time we make him 'mince pies' and he usually gets one of those horsey advent calenders too

Bear is 4 and was born in September sometime but i say its the 28th of July because i bought him last july!!!
