Do you do any other sports apart from riding? What would you do if you didn't ride?

I'm lucky, I'm a fitness instructor and personal trainer, so i get to do all this stuff for work and then do my horses for fun!

I used to run before I brought my horse, but find it hard to fit in now. I ride my horse the mornings when my two young girls are at school (4 days a week) , then fill the rest of the day with work around the house, decorating etc. etc. But having read this I think I will get back into riding. Or alternatively find somewhere I can learn to hand upside down from a pole. Loving that totally!!! How I would impress my friends after a drink or two with that trick, although would probably fall on my head!!!!!!

Skiing in the winter months as often as time allows.
Surfing in the summer when on hols in the West Country

Mostly just riding, although I go walking and do the odd bit of cycling. My OH doesn't ride so those are things we can do together.
I started learning to ski last winter and absolutely loved it - we're already booked for next year. I'd love to do much more of it but its hard to get away in winter when you have a horse!
I also started learning to windsurf a few years ago and loved that too. I haven't had the chance to do it since though.

I used to race minis :D! I gave it up not long before I took Troy on - and I really miss it :(
But I just cant afford it - If i didn't have Troy, i'd be racing and dancing still. 11 years of dancing down the toilet from riding injuries :o

I used to go swimming once a week and I keep saying i want to start going again but i haven't found the time to fit it in yet. :o

Yep, it was - sorry I should have said! I guessed you would have something eventing-wise on, never mind, maybe another time.

That's okay, just wanted to check ;) Alot of things PC wise seem to clash with BE, next year maybe a good year as I am not sure we will be BE-ing. I shall keep it in mind :D

I'm not allowed to run (severe hyperextension of my knees, as well as being very joint lax with floating kneecaps), so I'm resigned to being a pedestrian when I'm not riding :(

I do, however, like playing tennis and squash (I haven't told the physio or the consultant about that though ;) !) and swimming. I should do it more often really, but . . . !

Do they squeek when you hit them?:D

Unfortunately not....or possibly fortunately not, but shooting my first standing bear at 60 yards was a bit weird, rather like shooting at a man! I have also shot a Velocoraptor, but as I've never seen a real one I'm not sure if it was full size

I agreed to learn to surf because my OH, a keen surfer, promised to learn to ride too! It was a deal. So I got my own custom board and wetsuit, I'm ok but would be LOADS better if I didn't spend all my time with horsey. Sadly he didn't take to the horse like I took to the surfboard.
The deal is, I get to ride and OH can surf as much as he likes when the swell is good. Works pretty well. He spends all his money on boards, wetsuits, a campervan etc, and all mine goes on the horse.
We also go mountain biking, rock climbing and sailing as often as we can. So if I didn't ride I'd be doing any of those things!!!!

All I can say is, these guys who reckon their sports are 'extreme' wanna try what we do. I'd love to see them flying round xc. They wouldn't last 5 mins!!!

Probably a protected species:D

I used to swim but gave it up when i started riding again as couldnt fit the two in together. So i expect i would still be swimming as i love it but dont have the time or money at the moment!!

I water ski and ride our jet ski too but if I didn't ride or own horses then my life wouldn't be fulfilled!
x

Both sound like very good fun! Agree with you that if I didn't ride I would be very stick with things to do. I do wonder what people do with themselves. My horse has been off for just 5 days and I am already twiddling my thumbs! :p
