Do any of you guys dream about your horses? if so what about?

I suppose most of the time we dream about people that are close to us like family, OH's or possible partners and friends etc also things that worry us so our brains are processing the events and emotions of that day or week and when they turn into nightmares they say they represent our fears and anxieties.

I often dream about horses but when I do they are mostly nightmares though and about my own horse or ones I've had in the past etc.

Last night (well early this morning) I dreamt about calling to see Mackenzie on the way to work to check if he was ok, like I usually do every morning.

I found him laid down and struggling to get up, once he did get up he was very wobbly and fell back onto the ground outside the gate as I tried to bring him in.

I noticed that one of his new back shoes had twisted round and was hanging on with one nail, so I carefully pulled it off and to my horror his whole foot twisted off

so I tried to stick it back on again ...yes his whole foot! (I know very strange

) and I was screaming and crying

as I could not believe what was happening to my beloved horse, I was totally hysterical and shouted to my dad (who suddenly appeared from no where

) to call the vet and get him down asap as he was hobbling around on 3 legs and knew he needed to be shot

but then I was blaming myself because it may of been some terrible side effect from this HRT injection which he had on Tuesday and I thought I'd never get over it and in my dream I thought to myself I have never been this upset since loosing my beloved TB, how will I hope etc.

Now here is the strange thing.

I was PM'd about an experience of HRT, Mackenzie was shod yesterday afternoon and yesterday evening I was having a real good close look at his back feet and to check he's put his road nails in.

So I woke up in a panic thinking oh my goodness I must go down to check he's ok specially after having that terrible dream.

I got down the yard this morning and shock horror.... he was laid down!!! (both him and the other mare just snoozing in the morning sunshine lol) so there I was shouting at the gate for him and half of my mind thinking OH MY GOD MACKENZIEEEEEE!

but he was fine and came over to say hello.

Taken from the Mail Online here is an article about what it means if you dream about horses....which raised a curious eyebrow after reading it lol

Why Do I Dream of Horses?

Horses in dreams are thought to represent aspects of sexuality, instinctive dynamism, sensuality and the instinctive animalistic part of the unconscious.
In any dream it is important to notice how you and the other dream actors are behaving and feeling. In your dream the horse corners you and bites you although on some occasions you are able to be free and run away with the horse.
I suspect, then, that on the whole you are feeling intimidated and threatened by aspects of your own sexuality and sensuality. I think you might be frightened about this part of yourself or some other passionate part of your unconscious.

However, if you are finally able to overcome this fear and get on the horse or conquer you unconscious emotions you will be able to run free just like in your dream and in fact you may even enjoy the ride.

All very bizzare I know.

I frequently dream about them both good and bad.

Had a dream a couple of nights ago that all of the horses were in different stables in the barn and the old pony that my little colt is scared of was in the stable next to him and had chewed half his face off!

I always dream of my boy even b4 he passed away before it was about things like doing badminton and winning at top competitions and galloping across fields now its things like I see him laying in his stable and his waking up and being alive again, giving him cuddles or hearing him winney them sorta things.

Bloomin' heck!! That's all a bit bizarre.

I often dream about my monty.......but never happy dreams. He has been a constant worry since I got him and I have terrible dreams. The most bizarre was when his rainscald flared up and I had a dream that it started to drizzle and his skin melted off.

I too have dreamt that his hooves fell off. It was after a read about mountain goats headbutting each other and their hooves falling off.

Well at least you have had some very good dreams

and your others obviously show that you still very much miss him but he's still always with you, that has brought a lump to my throat actually.

i dream about mine all the time...

About 6yrs ago I sold my mare because she was too much of a handful for me, and I had a reoccuring dream for months that she was behind a high fence and someone was beating her and she was calling for me but I couldn't get in!!! It was mental because she'd gone to a really reputable competition yard to be reschooled and sold, and my instructor saw her every week - I knew she was fine but I was scared...

I dream about River, mainly since he's been ill I dream about riding him again. Last night however - I had a horrific dream that I had to have Luca put down. Got the vet coming today to investigate his sudden change in behaviour and I am clearly more worried about it than I thought - it was horrible - I was leading him to the field to be shot because he had something very wrong with his back....

Thats terrible I hope the vets visit goes well and you get good results and not what your worried about.
I have dreams of my boy like the end off black beauty where he dreams of galloping around with Ginger and mary toes (i can never remember that welshs name). but yew its just him and I running around a huge medow, atleast hes still with me.

So want to watch that film now lol

Not generally......although when Desi had a broken leg and was on box-rest - which he hated, 'twas a complete nightmare....I did have dreams then but I think it was more my subconcious playing out what I was worrried about.

Interestingly, when I didn't have horses for a while I used to dream I was riding....galloping around....not about any particular horse I had owned or known..... just a random horse, galloping.

Mostly nightmares! The night before last I dreamt my horse was trying to get up and when she did, her fetlock was just dangling and it was obviously the end of the road. I think I'm nervous about any field injuries now we have a loan home sorted out for her! (Probably a more mundane interpretation than my sex life!)
