Do any of you guys dream about your horses? if so what about?
I suppose most of the time we dream about people that are close to us like family, OH's or possible partners and friends etc also things that worry us so our brains are processing the events and emotions of that day or week and when they turn into nightmares they say they represent our fears and anxieties.
I often dream about horses but when I do they are mostly nightmares though and about my own horse or ones I've had in the past etc.
Last night (well early this morning) I dreamt about calling to see Mackenzie on the way to work to check if he was ok, like I usually do every morning.
I found him laid down and struggling to get up, once he did get up he was very wobbly and fell back onto the ground outside the gate as I tried to bring him in.
I noticed that one of his new back shoes had twisted round and was hanging on with one nail, so I carefully pulled it off and to my horror his whole foot twisted off
so I tried to stick it back on again ...yes his whole foot! (I know very strange
) and I was screaming and crying
as I could not believe what was happening to my beloved horse, I was totally hysterical and shouted to my dad (who suddenly appeared from no where
) to call the vet and get him down asap as he was hobbling around on 3 legs and knew he needed to be shot
but then I was blaming myself because it may of been some terrible side effect from this HRT injection which he had on Tuesday and I thought I'd never get over it and in my dream I thought to myself I have never been this upset since loosing my beloved TB, how will I hope etc.
Now here is the strange thing.
I was PM'd about an experience of HRT, Mackenzie was shod yesterday afternoon and yesterday evening I was having a real good close look at his back feet and to check he's put his road nails in.
So I woke up in a panic thinking oh my goodness I must go down to check he's ok specially after having that terrible dream.
I got down the yard this morning and shock horror.... he was laid down!!! (both him and the other mare just snoozing in the morning sunshine lol) so there I was shouting at the gate for him and half of my mind thinking OH MY GOD MACKENZIEEEEEE!
but he was fine and came over to say hello.
Taken from the Mail Online here is an article about what it means if you dream about horses....which raised a curious eyebrow after reading it lol
Why Do I Dream of Horses?
Horses in dreams are thought to represent aspects of sexuality, instinctive dynamism, sensuality and the instinctive animalistic part of the unconscious.
In any dream it is important to notice how you and the other dream actors are behaving and feeling. In your dream the horse corners you and bites you although on some occasions you are able to be free and run away with the horse.
I suspect, then, that on the whole you are feeling intimidated and threatened by aspects of your own sexuality and sensuality. I think you might be frightened about this part of yourself or some other passionate part of your unconscious.
However, if you are finally able to overcome this fear and get on the horse or conquer you unconscious emotions you will be able to run free just like in your dream and in fact you may even enjoy the ride.
All very bizzare I know.
