Do you dream about your horses?

I often dream about my mare but last night dreamt that there was a new groom on the yard and she took and rode my horse without my permission and galloped off with her down the lane !! I've woken up feeling furious like it actually happened ... How daft is that ??? Lol x

The other day I dreamt that I left Trev unattended outside a Tesco Metro while I popped in, & by the time I came out, he'd been hit by a car. V random as we do NOT hack past a Tesco's (in fact, we barely hack) & I would NOT leave him alone outside one!

And last night I dreamt that he shied (he doesn't shy) & I fell off with a bump, which woke me up!

T x

Gosh yes, I dreamt a few weeks ago that I was riding my now-rarely-ridden arab, I jumped him off something that looked like the Hickstead bank (yeah in my dreams..literally!), it was an amazing feeling. And more recently I dreamt I was riding him to round up some loose horses and he was being really responsive, almost telepathic (most unusual for him!).

I have dreamt about Clint many times....

one where we are on the run, he is just in a headcollar and I lead him everywhere, in a shopping mall, up a lighthouse stairs, he is a big warmblood, he wouldn't fit!

the other night i dreamt that I had been in a coma and when I woke up my other half said he had sold him (clint)and i was begging him to tell me where he was, he just kept saying, 'its for the best! woke up in a state at 3am!

My favourite is a recurring dream where we are on a cross country course that never seems to end, he jumps everything out of a really ongoing canter and the jumps just keep coming, so balanced and never tiring, up hill and down dale, on and on and on...

I have, I've dreamt recently I would be winning at HOYS with my arab mare, and doing the gallop around the arena with spot lights following us....

and I've also dreamt about me and my newly backed youngster winning top level dressage and badminton horse trials...(well we might do one day!)

However reality soon whacks me in the face!!! lol :D

When I'm very stressed I see Buddy being shot :( I suppose seeing my old lad being put down recently makes it easy for my subconscious to generate that image, its horrific. I wake up in a right state.

I have also woken up after 'falling off' lol! And he's often randomly in my dreams or I'm having to leave something in my dreams to go to the yard (just like real life then lol)

Haha love these! I recently dreamt the motorcycle chase out of the Tron movie... On horseback of course! And also have horrid dreams about horse emergencies when I am stressed and feel paranoid all day afterwards like it might be 'a sign'... touch wood. I touch wood a lot!

I've dreamed about a riding school horse that I ride if that counts. Because my riding school is based on an old airfield, we were in a little bit of drag hunt I think and we were galloping and jumping all these things on the airfield :D. Pretty sure I have had other dreams but that one stands out the most :p

I had many horrid dreams about benson just after our accident, but a few months ago I had a lovely one. I dreamt I walked past his old stable and the new horse was in there, but looking carefully, Benson was standing in the back xorner. i went in, and gave him a cuddle and he told me, in a proper voice, that he was fine, he didnt hurt, he didnt blame me, and rainbow bridge had loads and loads of lush green grass. I will NEVER forget that one.

I dreamt that I was keeping my horse in my mothers garden. The shed was my stable! Lol. I have also had a dream that my horse was lying on the floor dying. Not so nice that one :-/

I've had lots but the most memorable was when she turned into a fish but still had a horses head - I woke up asking my OH where my Tillyfish was.

He was mega confused!

What a lovely dream. Brought a tear to my eye.

I don't often dream about Mollie, but I frequently dream about Bamber, the horse I had last time round, 35 years ago.

In all the years since my health forced me to part, I had reaccuring dreams that I found him in a farm nearby, I wasn't allergic any more and he was mine again. He got older in the dreams as time went on, but I was always blissfuly happy to have him back.

I do sometimes, usually when I'm worried about him. I did dream recently that I was riding him in the school, in canter and it was REALLY hard work, I felt exhausted and was wondering why and when I looked down I realised I wasn't on my horse at all but on a hobby horse so I was actually doing the running with my own legs! I woke up laughing! :D

I dream about my old pony, often. It's so real I wake up and think she's still here...odd, because it's 11 years nearly since we lost her.
I wonder what it means? She's always well and happy ???
Rarely dream about my current lovely horse - though OH says I talk in my sleep as if I'm riding so ?

I'm a bit cynical about whether dreams "mean" something in that way. I go for the more logical approach: to me your dreams (and mine) simply mean we loved and miss our old ponies, and wish we could have them back.

In our daylight hours we know we can't, but we're allowed our dreams...

It's 30 years since my Bamber died (with his next owners) but in my dreams he's still out there, grazing happily on a farm nearby waiting for me to find him.
