Do you ever really get over horses?

I lost my loan pony a year ago when his owners unexpectedly took him back.
Everytime someone mentions him or i think about him i get reaally upset, everyone keeps telling me it gets better with time but a years a long time!!
So anyone lost a horse and cant get over it??

Same thing happened with my loan pony! The only way to really get over it is throw yourself into riding and yard work again, in any way possible. Luckily for me my friend let me help out at her and her dads yard. I still feel a pang when someone mentions him, but it's fine once you get out riding again, trying put lots of different horses if possible! xx
