I'm regretting it right now! I have some horrible virus, haven't eaten for days, high temperature, feel really unwell and I have to go to the yard and catch in two. No big deal, I know, but I could seriously do with staying at home in the warm with a dog (or two :o) on my lap.

There are days when I want to be very lazy!

I am experiencing some regret at the moment. I love her and am slightly obsessed and I am starting to see how straight forward my life would be if she weren't in it, in terms of money, time, guilt when I'm not with, guilt when I am. But then I imagine her going elsewhere and it is horrid. Just couldn't do it!

So yes, I regret it sometimes but the bad outweighs the good. It is rough when you are feeling so poorly but as Nanna used to say. - the fresh air will do you get and you'll appreciate the fire when you get back indoors. Get to bed early x

After this morning with my little one who was a complete and utter little sod when I was leading her out I'm regretting it right now......I came home in a strop saying that I was going to call the hunt out to both of them! But a couple of hours later and I just feel more determined that she WILL walk out better tomorrow!

I've had some horrific virus thing for 2 weeks now, coughing my guts out every night so sympathise.

Those are the times that I am glad that I have one at assisted grass and one on part livery. Unfortunately self employed so have had to surface to do some meetings to pay for it all.

Only when I have a hangover of mammoth proportions and have to muck out first thing because I have things to do later in the day - only for a little bit though - oh and anytime I have to visit A&E due to horse related injuries :D

No I dont. From time to time its difficult but thats life. Horses brought me and my DH together and we have had the best times with them. I never want to be without. My son is a horse owner now too. What a miserable "normal" life I would have had without them.

2 weeks?! I will expire if it lasts that long!

I admit, I'd be bored without a reason to get up in the morning, but sometimes, I'd love to have nothing to do at the weekend!

Hmm, I love my mare and horses have been a big part of my life since a small child- so no regrets at all.

However, sometimes I do wonder how rich I'd be if I had never been introduced to them thus never knowing what I'd been missing!

I don't regret having horses - I just wish I didn't have as many as I do! The trouble is is that I am far too soft and fussy about where they go so rarely sell anything and tend to keep collecting them! So if anyone wants some TB's and a compulsory Shetland Pony companion - please get in touch :D

No - not even when they break my leg !

I do regret sometimes not riding when i could have, and always thinking you have tomorrow.... but I am sure everyone thinks they will be around for ever.... but sadly that is not always the case.

I lost old boy September and everyone was when r u getting another. I do miss him and never ever found him a chore to do(I hadnt ridden him in past 2 yearish). In fact now I dont have him I think I am getting soft. I do agree when u r ill sometimes I just wanted a day off or two! Even going on holiday I would come back to a poo packed field(I use to poo pick every day). So a rest became poo hell.

I am debating as to get another now. My farrier said you have everything you need to have another horse. My problem was finding a good horse(ready made). I got disheartened and thrown off last viewing and it hurt! So gave up. Not sure. I have thought about getting a couple of donkeys, sheep, elephant rescue, I would be quite glad if someone wanted to use my field for free and I just helped them. Rambling now......I am not sure is my answer to your question. Do I miss having horse(s) Yes. My OH doesnt and thinks its best to give up whilst I am in one piece. I hope you get better but I know what you mean.

!

Hopefully not, it's very unusual as I normally shake things off really quickly. I actually moved yards last week, luckily there were two of us so I asked my friend to drive the lorry as I'm sure I wouldn't have been safe to drive.

Just to add, when mine went down to Rockley for a few months I was absolutely lost at the weekends.

There are only ever two times when I regret it..

One is when I look at my bank balance (or lack of)
Two is when I am up at silly o'clock in the cold and dark to go and muck out.

I forgot three. When I''m poo picking in the pouring rain and I get completely and utterly drenched.

Apart from that, never!

I'm regretting having mine at the mo, car troubles which i could really do without. It's been a very strapped year with lots of large bills inc garage and vet bills.this has just topped my year off :( I'd ideally like to sell one of mine but I just couldn't part with her and the other I wouldnt part with for a million pounds!

OP I really hope you feel better soon, life with horses is tough enough without feeling ill.My beloved old? ( 19) mare has been lame for a couple of months so now stressing on whether this is it, competition wise. Plucking up courage to do nerve blocks & X-rays I. fear the worst although she has a home for life no matter what xx daughters pony is full of the unspeakable ;) & I have turned into one of those mums I scoffed at who did everything for their child.Pony squishing is fun tho' :)
So yes sometimes I consider giving up and getting a gym membership and have a clean mud free car etc
But then wonder why I can't help but keep my eye open for GG number 3 .....lol!!

On the days that it causes huge arguments between my old man and me - YES! Although 99% of the time, no. If I didn't have horses, I don't know what I'd be doing instead.

All I know is, when I move and have my own yard I can do my horses how I want and run the place exactly as I like (OH is much more compromising and he knows he needs a woman about the place ;))

So I managed to muck out and do hay then was off to catch them in when I nearly fell over (must be the no eating ). Then I felt horribly sick and had to sit down. Luckily, a mate came over and said she'd catch in for me, the massive bonus of having a lovely yard. Huge bill was waiting for me when I arrived.

I'm fine if sitting down! Now back with obligatory dog on knee. :)

There are times I wish I had horses rather than uber-clever native ponies who work as a team, and always have the last word (usually a rude one):D......

I regret not buying one I've thought about since, but have never regretted mine for my sake. I have when I thought littlun could've gone elsewhere and not had the ***** she had with the yard I was on though.

No, we don't just have horses, it's a whole lifestyle. Although there are times when I've been heard to say, 'We must be mad!' And I have considered taking up stamp-collecting.

I have never, ever regretted having my horse - I regret getting on for one ride which has left me with major issues due to breaks etc but don't blame the horse for it at all.
