Do you ever regret having horses?

Ocassionally, but my boy must have a sixth sense. the day after I have the thoughts, he's always really sweet, and foot perfect when I ride him, so then I feel bad for even thinking it!

Not really regret, but I wonder how I will manage as I get older.
My lad is 24 and retired now but looks like he could go on another ten years. I'm 61 now with painful arthritic hands and can't imagine doing all the heavy work in the winter in ten years time as well as having the worry of when to make THE final decision.
I would never pass him on to anyone, I will keep him to the end but not looking forward to the next few years.
I love nothing better than to be at the stables though, just as I have since being ten years old. I don't know what I would do with my time if I didn't have my boy and I would miss him and the life he brings sooo much.

I do this week, my faithful old land rover has to go off for major surgery which means I've got to get to the yard with a huge bag of feed and a bucket of warm sloppy sugar beet ON THE BUS!!! Oh the shame....

The first day when Ned regressed in his training...I just thought "Why do I bother with this?!"
But I look at his face and into his eyes and I fall in love all over again. I just can't stay mad at him!
