...about this forum?

I've had a nice quiet day without the kids or OH around and have been left to do some thinking...uh oh! :D

I for one ask for and hopefully at times, give advice to complete strangers. Half of whom I have never met and probably never will meet, I have no idea what they look like, but happily embark on the odd discussion (light hearted or otherwise :) ), share some fantastic giggles, the odd tear and every now and then a tantrum or two :o. I share some personal experiences, and hear others'.

Do you ever find yourself looking at a post from an individual, and kind of building up an image of their lives in your head? What they look like, what their horses are like etc?

Isn't it lovely?! A bit odd if I think about it, but lovely all the same.

Now, excuse me as I settle down with this afty's cuppa, and browse through today's posts to see what's going on in the HHO forum :)

Also...I don't think i go anywhere really but the New Lounge...you guys have made me feel very welcome, so thank you :)

I like NL too - it's not as crazy as it's reputed to be and there are plenty of nice, kind and knowlegable posters on here. :D

What a nice post :D !!!!!!!! I agree!! Some numpties, but on the whole it's usually because people are so passionate about horses that we react!

I build up an image too :D XX

Faracat- agree totally!

Devonshire Dumpling- glad you like it, and that I'm not alone with the building up images. Would be fascinating to see if any of them were even slightly correct!

What a lovely post. :)
This forum can be a wonderful place.
The amazing members who gave me the portrait of Lucy last week for example :D

Quite new to all this, and I agree with you completely, I have some names I recognise now, and wee pictures in my head! Love this forum and the support and laughs I've had so far xx

I used to use HHO a lot, before I started my business, but because I absolutely live and breathe my job (Equestrian Photographer) and I'm not allowed to write anything about it or share any photos from it, otherwise I get told off for advertising, I sometimes find it hard to get involved on here. However, I am making a concerted effort to reply more and get more involved... see, here I am doing it now. :D

Lol, i love the term 'lurker'. I was one for years before I took the decision to actualyl join!

And Callahan, welldone for joining in :) FWIW I think your signature pictures are lovely!

Oh my goodness yes!!!!

(but you say you're in Worcestershire the same as me so if you wanted a pony meeting feel free to PM me! I'm on a very small yard so constantly on the prowl for new horsey mates)

i also am one to build a picture of another poster's life in my head :p there are so many people on here that have taught me so much :) but i must admit i am more of a lurker than a poster as i feel i dont really have a lot of teach, but lots and lots to learn off most of you knowledgable lot!

There are some lovely people here. When I suddenly lost lancelot and was faced with returning home alone, so many of you guys helped me hold it together. I will never forget that and despite how often we bicker , I know there are so many good people here.

It is funny sometimes how it spills over into real life. If someone posts that their horse/dog/cat is ill, often my first thought the next day is "I wonder how X is doing" almost as if they were one of mine.

I also like the CSI element, they can cross refer every post that has ever been made and report back in a second

TrickiVicki- I'm not riding much at the moment, but when I and the horsies are up and running, I'll definitely pm you :)

Mike007- Glad you got some support when you lost Lancelot, it must be so hard :(

Laura: How lovely! That's something you can keep forever and will hold so many lovely memories, both of Lucy and of the lovely people who helped you. Sometimes, I think a portrait means even more than a photo.

RebelRebel- CSI huh?! I like that term  and totally agree. If I've read a thread on here, quite often, the next day or whatever, I'll wonder what the outcome was, or what have you. :)
