Do you feed a rice based diet? If so, this may interest you.

Hair arsenic level in rice-based diet-fed Staffordshire bull terriers

Rice accumulates 10-fold higher inorganic arsenic (i-As), an established human carcinogen, than other grains.

Just sharing - not scaremongering ;)

It's well known that rice concentrates the arsenic that occurs naturally in the soil.

Apparently, if you're going to consume a lot of rice, the best way to cook it is in a filter coffee machine.

The dogs in the study that consumed rice were fed a rice based dry dog food. (80% of the diet was a rice based kibble)

Inclusion criteria for the study group were a dog eating a diet of 80 per cent or more of a rice-based (rice as first or second ingredient) dry dog food and for the control group a dog that did not consume any rice.

I am pretty sure that dog food manufacturers would not be prepared to cook rice in a filter coffee machine prior to including it in their dog food.;)
