Do you feed haylage?

If it is properly sealed I would think it would be okay, the commercial stuff has a shelf life of eighteen months if I remember rightly, but I think that it may be that the vitamin levels that drop off after a period of time rather than it being 'unsafe'. I'd check it smells okay, is a good colour and not mouldy before feeding though.
 
Do you mean the haylege is 2yrs old, or the horse you want to feed it to is 2yrs old?

It depends what it's like when you open it. It needs to have been well sealed with no holes. It should still be dry-ish and smell fine. We used a couple of bales a while aho that were two years old: they'd been the previous years haylege during the winter and we hadn't used them all so fed it over the summer, so it was 2 yrs old by then
