Do you feel guilty

if you don't ride for a couple of days?

I feel really guilty today as I've given my boy the day off today as I know he is going on schooling livery from this Friday and it felt pointless to go up there and school in this heat, especially when he will have a decent rider on him soon. He gets tomorrow off as well (well, he gets lunged and turned out). I feel lazy but guilty at the same time.

I'm sure he doesn't really mind and it won't be too detrimental to his progress, so its silly to feel guilty I guess!

Nope, but I felt guilty today making him jump in the hot weather!

My friend gets really upset if she doesn't ride every day, but I can go more than a week without riding if I'm particularly busy or not feeling well.

My girly hasnt been ridden for about 6 weeks!! She is having next week off too, and then I am going to have to crack on and get her fit ready for the winter!!

She worked hard last winter (hunting and lots of long distance riding), so I figure it doesnt hurt for her to have a rest during the summer whilst the ground is too hard for it to be pleasant to ride.........

........so no......I dont feel guilty!!

Yup. I didn't ride yesterday as my insides felt like mush (I had a really down day about my girl being put down a couple of weeks ago). I find that what motivates me to pull my socks up with him again, is remembering that my chance to do anything with her has now gone and I need to make the most of him (that's if I start taking too many days off). But to be really honest, all people and horses need a day off every now and then... it's when a day turns into a week turns into a month and before you know it it's been months since you last rode!

Mine are not bothered if they get ridden everyday or not, as long as they have turn out they are happy, so I can be happy too.

I used to, and rode when I didnt want to, to keep them fi for competing.
I dont do either anymore and enjoy the horses much more.

No I don't and I think Axey is pleased of a day off too, he is normally worked quite hard and ridden every day so I don't feel guilty at all!

Ordinarily no. However I've been furiously working Believe for the last month, building up her fitness which she's been thriving on

) and now because of my back then she's had the last few days off and she watches me walk off when I feed and don't bring her in to ride with such puppy eyes, all disappointed when she realises there'll be no play time that day....

So this week, yes
