...that you have more confidence on a horse than you do in life, or the other way round??

I struggle big time with my confidence levels, and I can go through patches where i can't even call my friends because i'm feeling so low about my confidence and don't want to make a mistake with their number even though i've called them 1000's of times

BUT put me on ANY horse, and i will take whatever it throws at me (now anyways!!), I prefer riding the high spirited, 'whacko' ones, and just seem to deal with them in my own way, and have all the confidence in the world....

It's just annoying i can't transfer this into life

i agree, i am really really shy and hate being infront of loads of people eg. when i am doing a speech at school i actually have like panic attacks and go really red which is v. embarassing! but when i am riding and especially competing however i really do not mind being the centre of attention, it is the only situation which i feel comfortable in having people looking at me!

Glad i'm not the only person who feels like this! Sometimes i feel like I'm just beign silly, and should buck up my ideas, and sometimes i suppose I come accross as being over confident so that people don't think badly of me

I'm the opposite - I'm more confident in real life than when riding. Will happily phone anyone or talk to anyone or real life, but will definately not just jump on any horse to ride! Although I'm happy dealing with any horse from the ground - getting on anything is another matter altogether, I can be quite a wimp when it comes to riding!

I'd love to be more like you both!

i totally i agree i have very little confidence out in the real world but with horses i just get on with it come what may if i get a bolshy rude horse i put it in its place but faced with a bolshy rude person i become a shrinking violet

I'm really confident in both, I'd get on any horse for a laugh (I mean whats the worst that could happen....actually don't answer that!) and I regularly have to make presentation etc at work, doesn't phase me at all! Though I do hate flying stresses me out to the max
