Do you get more excited about clothes for horse than yourself?

Am I the only person in this boat? I find getting new rugs HUGELY exciting, far more so than getting a new dress/jeans/shoes/whatever for myself.

My birthday is next week and I put a rug on my wishlist... I was literally daydreaming about said rug when I found out that my Uncle has ordered it for me (well, for Belle really, hehe). Can someone please confirm that I'm not the only loser?

Also, the rug in question is this one and I LOVE IT: http://www.robinsons-uk.com/product...oupCode=0302&groupCode=03201&page=4#sku.51424

*goes away to drink tea and dream about more horsie items*

I would rather see my horses in new rugs than buying myself new clothes.
Infact i still have new rugs in there bags which haven't been on the horses as yet !
I think i have a rug fetish. lol

XxX

Phew, thanks! I tried to explain to my non-horsey boyfriend but I'm not sure he could quite understand it!

There is nothing more exciting than taking a new rug out of the bag and looking at it, then seeing your horse frolicking about in it. Now I want MORE!

I am incredibly sad I went looking at the tack shop for a fleece yesterday (zip bust in my MH one), ended up cooing over a new shiny grey caldene embossed numnah which I bought instead. He already has tonnes BUT did I mention it WAS shiny! I probably should also hold my hand up for the WW oxy boots that I had an accident with, I only complimented them on the great idea of removable velcro inners and they literally leaped off the shelf into my basket - what could I do? it would have been rude to disappoint them when they could have a lovely home with Roo...

OMG, Yes!!!
A Derby House catalog turned up the same day as the NEXT catalog and i browsed the DH one and made a list of stuff i wanted the OH to pay for...The cellophane is still on the NEXT book!!!

Have given up on certain online stores (my lifespan could just be too short to wait for them to delivery!) - but could spend hours and hours wandering round our local saddlery shops...

My fetishes seem to be anything sheepskin, boots, rugs, saddles, and bridles... so that pretty much everything then.

OH used to take the mick out of the fact that I had one horse and 14 rugs for him. Now we have three horses and he's given up counting...!

Totally...I love buying my horse new "clothes" there's nothing like a bright, clean non stinky rug :) Even getting a cleaned one out to put her makes me feel happy (I am truly SAD) Not forgetting that I pay £60 every 6-8 weeks for her shoes without batting an eyelid... I don't pay that much for my own that last MUCH longer !

Think its official, us horsey types are really quite mad ! :D

I also have a host of rugs which I never use, which don't fit any of our horses or ponies and which I don't think have ever fitted one we've owned. I'm also curious to know how we seem to have rugs which I swear are about 40 years old when I wasn't even born then...

Maybe if I cleared out all the old rugs then it would be even more acceptable to get more new ones? I'm also after that Weatherbeeta Joules no fill rug... I originally thought I hated the crazy stripes and colours until I saw it in a shop and had a ruggasm.

LOL thats so me. I hate cloths shopping for me and normaly buy the first thing I see that looks like it might fit me (I don't even try things on) Also I struggle to justify buying myself new clothes (and I hardly ever buy myself any, Last new cloths I had was 2 years ago when I needed new jods :p:rolleyes::))
I once went into a tack shop to get myself some new boots. I ended up spending about £100, £50 on a rug for Lucy, £15 on a new headcoller and rope set, some new brushes and a feed bucket. No new boots and that was 2 weeks wages spent :p:rolleyes:. My mum gave me such a telling off. :(

Whenever it's my birthday or xmas and people ask what I want my answer is always the same. It used to be "well Lucy needs........." so now it'll be "well Herbie needs......." Some of my family even refuse to just give me money as they know i'll spend it on the ponies. Although last xmas, this B'day and probably next xmas they'll give me money twords Lucys vet bill :(

I'm another who hates clothes shopping - I run in, grab, pay, run for the hills.

But horsey gear.....I can spend hours poring over stuff, comparing stuff, deciding what I want (in my dreams) then trying to work out a way to get it. Ebay has a hell of a lot to answer to.
