Do you go places in your horsey clothes?

Because I have three dogs too, I rarely get out of horsey clothes if I'm not at work. Thankfully, the OH does the majority of the shopping but I have no compunction about stomping into the supermarket in jods!
 
I will go to the shops, into town etc in my work/horse clothes, but if i have time i might change. I wouldnt go to the Dr dressed like that, although i have been to the dentist in my work clothes as i was working in a garden in the town at the time so didnt have time to drive five miles home, change and then drive back!

I did spot a woman yesterday who was dressed in very clean jods and riding boots and obviously on a day out in the village! :rolleyes:It makes me laugh the way some people dress all "country" so they think they fit in when they come here!

My favourites are the ones who walk round Badminton in pristine jods and boots as if they're doing a year's worth of shopping in between their two xc rounds. :D
 
I'm another one who doesn't get changed. I even do the school run in my horse clothes. My doctors are known for never giving appointments out, the receptionists must keep them all for themselves or something, and after arguing with her for a while and getting nowhere the only thing she would offer was the morning first-come-first-served clinic where you have to wait 4 hours to be seen. So I came straight from the yard and sat next to the radiator by her desk ;)
 
I'm another who doesn't mind going shopping etc in horsey stuff ... I don’t like talking to people so it keeps them away ;) especially those pesky people who ram into you with a trolley :mad::D
 
I go to the supermarket, clothes shopping, bank, petrol station, doctors and lunch in cafe's or pubs in my yard clothes, I just brush myself down, babywipe and change boots. :D
 
I will go just about anywhere in my 'horsey' clothes BUT I teach and don't currently own a horse so don't tend to smell of stable mess etc.

I have frequently been to doctors/dentist in work clothes - though this is often on the way to work. I frequently pop to Meadowhell in them.

I wouldn't go to the hospital in them (other than A&E) and wouldn't visit none horsey friends after working in them as I am cautious about allergies etc.
 
I would never make a planned visit to dentist or dr in dirty smelly horse gear. I am willing to pop in supermarket in horsey gear but would change out of yard boots and take smelly coat off first. I do have one client i work for who is horsey and i do go there straight from stables, but i always put clean yard clothes on that day and wear overalls to muck out in. I am forever asking my family to sniff me in case i stink of horses and have got so used to the smell i dont notice it.
 
I did used to go to the supermarket in horsey clothes...until an odd man came up to me and smelt me :eek: then asked if i had been riding a mare..and winked :eek: never again!
 
I go to the cash machine and sometimes the shop before going to my riding lesson and I get stared at by literally everyone who passes. I live in an urban area so people can't get their heads around it. Pervy old men often find it hilarious to ask 'Have you lost your horse?' and other timeless one-liners.
 
I go everywhere in my horsey stuff. Dr, dentist, shopping even parents evening. Can't be bothered with the hassle of changing and everyone knows me wearing horsey stuff they would all be surprised if I didn't
 
I live and ride in Central London, and always go to and from lessons in my gear (includng 20 mins on the tube). If I need to stop off somewhere along the way, I do, to be honest no one ever seems to notice!

Ive ridden and competed all my life, I feel very comfortable in my riding clothes, and ahving lived in a very horsey area before this it wouldn't occur to me not to wear them anywhere.
 
Oh no, I thought everyone was as scruffy as me! I'll go to category ones all the time... Usually it's not for long though, any time I'm somewhere for longer than 5 or 10 minutes then I'll probably make the effort to change, but since my house is in the middle of nowhere the rule usually is "once I'm out I'm out", no going back to faff around with a change!
 
I do this too, rush inside to change and then go back out to do the horses. I like to look after my nice clothes but look worse than a tramp in my 'horse clothes' luckily they are at home so only OH sees me in this state :D

I have been down the shop in horsey stuff, don't like the looks I get from others though which is understandable soi I tend to avoid it unless I have too.
 
I go everywhere in horsey clothes. People go to the doctors in their work uniforms/suits, so why can't I?

I wouldn't go anywhere other than the supermarket if I was reeeaally hideously hairy/muddy/smelly though.
 
Always go in shops wearing horsey clothes ! I go to the horses in the morning and can't be bothered to change for whatever I need to do after :D

I have been in the doctors wearing horsey clothes, but wouldn't go in the dentist wearing them, have been in to hospital but that was not by choice :o
I have even walked in to school wearing my horsey clothes !

I practically live in my jods, muckers and horsey coat.. infact I went to London for the 2013 new year in my riding coat.. :o I did wash it first!

Oh. and my grandma picked me up from the stables after a particularly muddy day there, only to tell me that we had to stop off at the funeral parlour :eek: and I had to go in and hand some money in for a funeral fund.. The lady at the desk looked at me like she was going to put me in one of the coffins ! I felt very uncomfortable with that one, I would have changed if i'd known!
 
Yup always do the "Friday big shop" in my horsey clothes as go straight from the yard. Quite often stop off at our local chippy on the way home from the yard, the staff know I have horses and will often ask how they are.
 
I go pretty much everywhere in horsey clothes although I do change my footwear, always keep a pair of ugg type boots in my car just in case. If I am horrendously muddy, hairy or smelly then I try to change my top layer too but generally I live in my green bodywarmer! :o :D
For appointments I do normally go home and change first although I've ended up going to the doctors a handful of times in horsey ensemble as running late :rolleyes:

I go most places in my horsey stuff. Often go to the shops after working with them on a Saturday, doesnt bother me actually. Then again, living on a farm with many 'house' animals too, i tend to look a tramp most of the time anyway...
 
I go pretty much anywhere in horse clothes, do wear normal clothes for uni but will have been to do horses in them before so if I've got mud on people can deal with it!

Wouldnt go to dentist but GP is ok!
 
I go to the supermarket and the petrol station in mine, plus the garden centre. Today, I popped into Homebase to get some masking tape on the way to the yard, but I did have clean jodhs/fleece on so wasn't smelly. I have turned up at A&E in horsey stuff a couple of times!
 
I go everywhere in my horse stuff. Tesco, petrol station, doctors and a&e! Took a trip on Saturday with Billie (another forum poster) both sat in mucky boots, stinking out the place... No one even batted an eye!
 
Have to do an unreserved apology to my dentist then, as that is the one you all seem to draw the line at. I have seen my dentist every time in last six years only in riding clothes as it is on way back from yard. Both are a long way from me so it makes sense to pop in there en route. It has never occurred to me to change. Boots, OK, if they are muddy. But nothing else. She must hate me.
But I look kinda gorgeous in my riding gear, so that's OK, yes?
 
local shops, petrol station, bank yes - docs and dentist erm nope!!
I did however end up in a&e ahr away from home with my daughter when she broke her arm, we where both plastered in mud in horsey gear :rolleyes:
 
Rarely!!! I've been to the petrol station / supermarket in my horse stuff a couple of times, popped into corner shops on the way back from events etc - but I don't make a habit of it!
