Do you hack alone?

Yes, just started to again after a bad fall last year (I wasn't on my own). I like going out alone and have progressed with my ex racer from hacking in company to going solo.

My other horse is much better on his own, less reactive, nappy and waits and relies on me more instead of whoever we're with.

I love hacking on my own! :D
I love the fact that its just me and my horse :)

He is great to hack though, nothing fazes him and we walk along on a loose rein :D

I'm surprised to be able to answer that I do. I'm very novice, only went on my first ever hack in February and have had my loan horse since March. With the lighter evenings I want to ride more, and there's not always anyone around, so I go out 3-4 times a week on my own.

We've progressed from a walk down to the end of the lane, to a longer road circuit, adding in some trotting. Then two weeks ago we did a little loop through the woods, and on Saturday we did an hour, mostly through the woods, and included a little canter, so my confidence is definitely growing!

I do more and go further when I'm out with others, but am hoping to keep building on what we're currently doing on our own.

All the time. Love it, love the freedom and 'me' time with horsey. In fact I would say that I hack alone 90% of the time. It does help that I have a bombproof boy who goes past most things. He can be a little bit 'looky', but a firm leg on and 'walk on' ususally works. I think its one of life's great pleasures and I hope to be doing it for a long time to come.
