i loved mine for a week - now HRH has no mane where it goes over her withers type area (you know what i mean - not feeling v eloquent on a fri afternoon!
Does anyone know of a website where there are good rug reviews? It has become a minefield of choice out there and quite frankly, I'm left quite confused by it all.
I'd like to know, what is the favourite and best value overallas well as the pros and cons for:
1. Stable
2. Heavy Turnout with detachable neck
3. Medium turnout with detachable neck
4. Combos with detachable neck
I love Orkan's Rhino stable wug. I love the red and green check and the fact it keeps him toasty if he ever does have to come in (which is rare so the rug stays pretty pristine!)
Sentimental yes - a Midland Bank sponsored rug from the 1970s (used to be given as event prizes) and more recently two retraining of racehorse rugs that we have won. From a pretty point of view I have a lovely thermatex type gold/red/black rug and I loved the green check winter rug that my old boy used to wear. Also have a Horse of the Year Show rug that I won (unfortunately not by winning a class at HOYS but through winning a competition sponsored by Horseware).
1. Stable ~ best buy is the weatherbeeta under rug combo and I also love my premier equine HW very snug rug....must dig that out with this cold snap!
2. Heavy Turnout with detachable neck ~ NEED to buy one...my rhinegold is too small and shes ripped it!
3. Medium turnout with detachable neck ~ Rhino Wug got mine 1/2 price so fab...its a high neck and really warm! must add that it came up small so i got it in a bigger size
also love my Landa Weatherbeeta...despite it being a combo she manages to get just as muddy on her neck!

Thankyou Holly great post - I have some fab searches to do now
I don't have any favourites but I do like Mark Todd rugs and the Amigo my foal is wearing is fab considering the weather we have been having its never weaked nor has it rubbed.
I love my Rambo Duo which is the only turnout rug I have with a selection of the liners, which also work fine under my Rhino stable rug. For best the favourite is my fab Thermatex (my best Ebay purchase this year!).
I Love the shires range and have used them on all my horses over the past 2 years.
Very well made and much cheaper than most other brands.
You can get them nearly half price off stockists who list on ebay or I've bought loads through a site called barnstormers (I think)
Rambo turnouts everytime, my horses keep them on overnight if they come in wet, as they are so comfortable and never leak, and they go out toasty and dry in the morning.
