showing, do you have to qualify for royal windsor or can you just enter? if you have to qualify than please can someone send me a link of the qualifying dates?
thanks alot

I know that if you want to take part in the Riding Club dressage or showjumping then you do have to qualify, not sure of the dates though. And as for any other classes I have no idea! Sorry, probably not very helpful!

no you don't for the showing you can just enter just like any other county show, for some classes you horse may need to be registered with a society.

I have a New forest and I could enter him if I wanted as he is registered with the new forest breed society.

it is the RIHS that you have to qualify for.

My Andalusian stallion is registered with the british breed society (BAPSH) which they have to be in order to compete at royal windsor or any other show in the uk, im not a member myself though as its only the horse that needs to be registered. Dont know if its the same for different breed societies though

i was also going to ask this question. does anyone know if i have to be registered with the society? my horse is registered with the WPCS but i am not a member, would this matter?

What class are you wanting to enter? You won't have to be a member of the WPCS but depending on the class you wish to enter, you might need to join another society (NPS, BSHA, BSPS etc).

Depends what you want to enter; "the showing" is rather a large section...... for the majority of classes you will need membership of societies, for both horse and rider, height certificates, etc. There is off the top of my head one class to qualify for, as the RoR are holding their performance horse final there.

Without being presumptious from just one post - your comment "the showing" suggests you are quite new to it - perhaps try starting at some country or county level shows before Windsor, which is usually heaving and buzzy becuase of "the name" everyone wants to be there - it would be worth ensuring that both you and horse were well up to the challenge before entering.

he is registered with the WPCS and also has a height certificate. I recently had to re-register him as a section D so this was necessary anyway. I have shown him for 5 years and been to many county shows every year. I just am not sure if i have to be registered with poniesUK, NPS or a society along those lines.

Is there a veteran class and would she have to be registered with anything?? I have never done any showing but Lottie is staging a comeback and can no longer SJ or hunt so showing it is, would like to do some of the bigger shows with her as the smaller ones seem to go on who you know (the reason we have never done it).

I appreciate this sounds ambitious but my girlie can do it! She has jumped at county shows and affiliated before she got old.

we're definatally up to it, i've had so many people say to me, she could do extremly well, not just friends telling me but judges ect..
if you go on their website, they said the program will be up soon so you can see if there is a veteran class :) xxx

M+M Ridden classes at Royal Windsor are, I believe, Olympia qualifiers this year so I think that if you intend to compete, both you and the pony will need to be BSPS members (however, I might be wrong about that, it might just be riders/owners who need to be members, best to ring BSPS to check). The standard will be extremely high as it's one of the Olympia 'final' qualifiers, as opposed to a semi-final - don't let that put you off, but you will be in with some pretty hot competition I imagine!

Inhand classes are different, don't think you'd need to be a member of anything if you were intending on doing those.

I'm not Windsor expert, but I do believe there are Veteran classes there. Last year I'm sure they were very well supported.

Best to have a look and see if you can find the photographers website from last year, then you can guage what kind of horses will be in your classes. The competition there will be top class, but as long as you understand you'll have producers in your class, go and have a nice day :)

What class will you be doing? :)

When I went a couple of years ago it felt like absolutely miles from the lorry park to the rings - you will need to be well-prepared as you don't want to "pop" back to the lorry if you forget something. The standard was high in all the classes that I saw and some of the collecting rings were very congested, but that seems to be normal at this level of competition.
