Do you keep stuff in your stable?

Oh I say, those cases are rather smart!

I don't keep anything in my stables because all my horses investigate. Occasionally I forget whatever was left gets trashed:(

warmblood87 - you have three posts, all of which are resurrecting old threads to recommend the same website. Not very subtle breach of the advertising rules there ;)

Noooooo!!!
This is out side the stable ( Ignore horse, she goes inside )
i brought the filing cabinets up myself, the yard supplies the metal boxes.

I have had to buy one of those buckets with the hooks and drilled holes in the hooks to tie to to the railing.

Otherwise he has a 'fling the bucket' competition with his next door neighbour, or the old classic:

Sit on my bucket. It is a tubb thingy and has a permanent bend in it now. Blooming horses who would have them!:D

god no!!! i have a two year old who eats everything!!! she even took on a bottle of fly spray when i left it too close to her!!! :D

my last horse i would - brush and fly spray :)

I keep lots in my horses stable. He has two home made rug bars one for turnouts one for stable (yes I hav far too many rugs!) I even store a few bales of straw in the corner along with my tack box. Storage is limited on my yard but I like to keep well stocked up. I also have a cubby hole in the wall which I leave riding hat, lotions etc. Stable is plenty big enough and horse is not bothered. I can even leave carrots/apple's in his cubby hole and he won't touch them!

would personally have nothing in a stable, to risky, but I am old school. Not even rugs.

Should literally be water, bedding and hay fed. Cant stand feed bowls left in there either..

This. I hate things left in stables. I leave stable rugs folded up on the window ledge every morning when I turn everything out, but apart from that, it's just bedding, water, hay and feed in their mangers. I also hate feeding from buckets on the floor. I'm very lucky that I have original stone mangers in all my stables, but when I had a much bigger and more modern yard I put corner mangers in all the boxes. It stops horses kicking buckets around.

I do!

Have about 5 rugs in there, grooming box kept on the floor in the corner and various boots etc round the edge on shelfs!

When I go up I leave my keys and mobile in his stable too.

Thankfully, he NEVER touches anything, so I don't have to worry about that!! I even leave food in there and he would not dare touch it if he was not told he could!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that is his strict spanish up bringing in spain

I used to have a freezer in the old girls 'stable' though she was living in a dog run with a very high roof - long story, temporary accommodation and no storage space provided but very kind lady let me have them there and it was just wide enough for her but very long so we popped the freezer at the back for me to store my essentials.

I have 2 rugs hanging up but that is it (if boots are wet they get left hanging up on the partitions to dry), I like my horse to have as much space as possible in her stable and I think boxes etc are dangerous.

I keep rugs in mine on rug rails. She never touches them unless I hang them over the door then I will find them in her bed with her lying on them. Wouldn't mind but she is on rubber matting and has a deep bed.

Nope, 'stuff' gets in the way and gets trashed so all outside and out of reach - defo damage limitation with Red as he gets bored/inquisitive and the lesser the risk of self harm the better :)

I have rugs, filing cabinet, tools, stool, grooming kit, corner hay rack full of stuff !

Mine is really good, he might pull a rug down if i'm late in the morning but thats usually it

No because he would investigate it all

This! Kali is such a nosy horse that anything left in there would be thoroughly rummaged through/damaged. I do keep rugs on his huge rug rail - but they are wrapped around securely and tied with a surcingle to stop him pulling them off . . . . and I wrap his everyday brushing and overreach boots around the bars on his windows, but every once in a while he pulls those off (despite them being secured with very sticky velcro) and buries them in his bed.

I do leave rugs over his door . . . and if I'm late up to the yard he grabs them with his teeth and shakes them until they fall on the floor.

I also have to make sure that anything else tied or hung up OUTside his stable is well out of reach or that's fair game too.

P

With a horse in it? No thanks, I've seen how much they like to stand on/chew/pull apart etc anything I leave within reach.

I keep grooming kits/rugs and numerous other things in when I need to empty trailer for use. Feed bins are in there at the moment as well, but when a horse comes in, the stuff gets placed outside until horse is back in field.

Horse lives out so rarely in stable!

My last horse liked to chuck things at people as they passed her stable, so nothing! She still spat hay at unsuspecting passers by...

I have blankets over the walls, water pails are on hangers, hay is on the floor, no other horse stuff, but, the two stalled horses are quite used to sharing their stalls with cats and ducks. I often go in and find the kitten on a nice warm horse back.

Otherwise my stalls are full of goats, lots and lots of goats, and you don't leave a thing in with them unless it is nailed down ;):D

I used to keep horses at an MOD yard and they had lovely fitted corner cupboards with feed mangers in the top. Very good use of otherwise wasted space.
