Do you know this dealer?

I am not sure you will be able to get the dealer to drop alot, at the end of the day he has everything going for him, he is safe, he jumps, he's not a total nut-bar and he isn't old and decrepid.

If he is genuinely a 1st / 2nd pony type, some parents will pay the earth for them, and therefore his price probably isn't out of the way.

(that isn't to say for one minute that i would pay that amount for him!!)

But he doesnt appear to have been to pony club, done any shows or really done anything at all- he looks quite unschooled and he isnt registered.

He does look like the kind of pony that an unknowing parent with more sense than money would buy for their child as a first pony, if you see what I mean. I couldn't see anyone who knows about horses and buying horses paying that much.

The site looks very amateurish in that the rider is wearing green wellies..

The pony looks a nice sort but very green and it doesn't actually say more than "would make a nice ....."
So carefully worded.
Your friend is better ringing the local DC and asking if they know of an outgrown pony I reckon. (unless she is experienced and can bring it on herself, but I think young rider /inexpeienced pony is a bad combination..)

Thats really sad, I posted asking about a dealer a number of weeks ago and I am so glad I did. I took on board the advice given and was very grateful and have since bought a lovely mare the bay in my sig from a different place.

Basically I did not check the forum for a few days and due to the dealer sending threatning PM's to the people who answered I was 'labelled' a horible person fishing for the dealer

I live out in Norway and the only dealer I have anything to do with is my sister in S Wales who owns a lovely riding school/livery yard with a good repuation.

I was sooo mad I did not check the forum and I could only defend myself when the post for my 'head on a plate' was so old nobody would even check it.

People giving honest opinions will help people from making a potential mistake, there are bullies out there but if they have done some bad deals knowingly they will not risk taking legal action against people, that would be costly and quite frankly it is not quite so easy to sue people based on internet forum chat

Sorry I just had to say this, I felt your comments were a little pointed and my forum post on asking about a dealer was the last to be asked about before this one.

Hi

Im sorry if I have made people paranoid about giving their views. I am a normal horsey person who was asking on behalf of a friend.
