Do you know this horsey film?

I cry at anything...especially anything horsey! Black Beauty, Hidalgo (when he lets him go at the end I was crying like a baby with my mum), Sea Biscuit, Secretariat even Racing Stripes! *blush*

I have probally have never recovered from seeing Black Beauty as a child the Ginger story time upset me so much I sobbed for hours and I read the book once as a teenager and it was just as awful. It's why I can lead mine out of their stables and watch them PTS when the time comes it was literally a experience that affected my whole life. I was not too good with Bambi as well.

Black Beauty is sooooo sad.I cant watch it nor Bambi. Even Dumbo is sad.

Run wild, run free gets me every time!

Ginger from the Black Beauty film (1994) was kept at my yard and was only recently put down. No idea how old he was but he was 20ish in the film I believe!

Littlest put ponies I think, I remember it aswell.

Was it in newcastle, and the mine owners daughter got involved, and at the end they are grazing in a lush field with the sun on their backs?????

Ok. I'm looking for this film I saw when I was little and I just can't think what it's called.

I'm not sure if it was a proper film or a telly dramatisation but it was about pit ponies. It was aimed at kids. There was a coloured pony called Flash. I think it was about the children in the film saving the ponies. I remember being very upset because Flash dies in an explosion towards the end.

I'm hoping to find it on amazon because I'm sure my daughter would love it.

Oh gosh i remember it well!!
I cried all night when flash died :( :o:o
It took my mum ages to calm me down!! its when he goes back into the pit in his stall/stable then it blows up or something

Oh God that pit pony film was my childhood trauma! My eldest sister teases me to this day by just saying "pit ponies" and I well up. The pony that dies at the end is blind (if I remember correctly) and so he goes back to his underground stable because he doesn't know any different and then they blow the mine up. Oh no, the tears are coming, I may have to log off...

ps. As for The Littlest Hobo...just don't!

In Into the West do they have the horse in a council flat?? If it is ill need to get it again so i can remember it :)
Has anyone else seen an old Disney film called The Horse In the Grey Flannel Suit? I loved that as a child:D
Q

I used to love the Norman Wisdom film where he was a milkman. He had a horse called Nellie and she wasn't feeling well so he took it up the stairs and let it sleep in his bed!!

I loved it!

We saw that in the cinema just after my little brother's cat had died and we hadn't told him. the very loud conversation between my sister and brother went like so.

4 yo brother: "Why is the big cat sleeping"
6 yo sister: "He's not asleep- he's dead, just like your cat"
4 yo brother: "My cat's not dead- he's at the vets"
Rest of Cinema: "Awwwwww"

I don't think Bury St Edmunds Cinema has ever recovered!

Sorry! I digress: My fave horsey programme= Flambards!

Flambards is a programme? I read the books when i was about 11 and I loved them. didn't know it was a programme!

That film traumatised me as a child, almost as bad as Lassie, The Three Lives of Thomasina and Greyfriers Bobby. Don't mention ET! *eyes well up* :D

When I was a kid I named my cat after the 'Three Lives of Thomasina'. Loved that movie. Remember going to the cinema in Chesham, was a real treat to go and had ice cream in the interval.

Oh any horsey films (or animal films in general) always get me crying!

My daughter and I watched Hatchi not so long ago, talk about tear-fest!! Later on in the day Issy kept turning to me and asking about when our dogs where going to die and going on about "that sad film"!! Recently I was in the library with Issy and I read her Greyfriars Bobby, I started blubbing as I was reading it! :o
