.......I have just come back from the yard and while giving the 'Fat One' a scatch on his wither.......I thought to myself I'm really privileged to own a horse.....any one else feel the same?

Yes every day. I've waited 24 years to get my own horse and appreciate every minute. There are days when I think arrggghhh why do I do this but then I think of how long i've waited to get my own.
 
I was only saying to a friend last week I never imagined I'd own a welsh pony, a yearling cob x nf and my own riding horse! I always thought as a teen I would end up riding for everyone else for the rest of my life!
 
i look at my mashed up little chestnut thoroughbred. And i think ' you are just the best' you know what, I know we are never going to get far in showing, but I also know that I have ridden horses that have gone to badminton and horses that have competed at top level dressage and they annoy me.. not make me smile, but Ted always makes me smile!

Crikey YES! I waited 30 years to own my own horse. Sadly my first horse died last year after nearly 10 years of being with me. I suffered with terrible withdrawal symptoms so soon bought Jerry. Everyday I thank my blessings that I have him. I often just sit on the gate and watch him in the field thinking how lucky I am.

LOL I just sit in the field and watch them for ages, I love just spending time up there,it is very theraputic (sp)!
 
Yes definetly, particulary as pickle is kept at a RS where I am surrounded by people who would do anything to be in the position I am in.
 
Your so very right, people that dont have horses just don't know what there missing....I love my horse, he's my babe!
 
yes all the time not so much in winter though when the taps are frozen and its chucking it down with rain ,wind at gale force ,but wouldnt change for the world love it all.
