But if you don't remove the girth how do you remove the numnah?
We have poly pads for everyday use and for shows we have numnahs with straps and I undo all the straps and the numnah comes off that way.
But if you don't remove the girth how do you remove the numnah?
I loosen the off side and undo on the near side but leave it attached. Not had an issue in years.
I'm amazed by this! I have never, or seen anyone else completely remove the girth! I always use a clean numnah though, can't stand to see dirty numnahs used repeatedly
Oh dear.
Girth undone both sides, hosed if necessary, and put up to dry.
Numnah never left attached to the saddle, hung to dry.
Saddle always wiped and covered.
Bit taken off the bridle to be washed.
Bridle wiped, bit re-attached, hung covered with old pillow case.
I like my tack. It cost a lot.
Yes most often leave buckled one side, I do and always done, also been known to tuck the girth into the stirrup on the same side it is buckled up. Done it 35+ years with no problem.
Just because you don't remove your girth, doesn't mean you don't look after your tack and your saddle is wrecked!!!
This every time - but I am a bit precious about my saddles!!Nooooo can't bear girths left on saddles makes my brain what to explode .
Off ,cover on ,girth on top .
I undo the girth at both sides. Then either put it over the saddle or I sponge the mud off and leave it aside to dry.
