excuse huge photo, i'm rubbish at editing them!

Nope but I would if my OH would let me! Although it's probably best if they don't, seeing as though 10st of drooling bloodhound on the bed when Jasper gets bigger wouldn't be much fun!

I try do......
My lab always joins me when I get into bed - uninvited I add (usually followed by my two cats). Then they all bu99er off when I turn the lights out. I think my lab genuinely likes her dog bed.
However if I go back to bed in the morning for a lie in, she always gets back on and stays on until I get up???

Nope, my parents dog is only allowed downstairs/out in the garden, not allowed upstairs at all. She wasn't allowed on the sofa's either until she got poorly, then an allowance was made!
Personally it's bad enough having a cat who hogs the bed, can't imagine sharing it with a dog!

i don't. ours are all rescues of some sort and the latest is a cocker who was due to be put down for aggression and cocker rage - which is rubbish - it was just pi$$ poor training etc
he is now happy in his status of bottom of the pack (humans, cats and dogs!) and anything like this would upset the balance.
all the dogs do occasioanlly get allowed on the bed on a sunday morning though for a quick cuddle

but know they have to get off PDQ if given the word!

After having him sleep in my room on holiday - noooooooooo!

A. He snores
B. He hogs the duvet
C. He smells

D. He wakes up ridiculously early, then tries to wake me up by using gradually escalating tactics. He starts off by digging in his bed loudly, then he starts whining. After this stage, he goes and find something unauthorised to wave about - generally a sock. He final tactic is to worm under the covers and stick his cold wet nose on the bottom of my foot

At which point I give in and admit to being awake, but refuse to get up because I will not be beaten... at which he gets back into his bed, sulks, then after about 10 mins (so just long enough for me to start drifting off) starts the whole damn process all over again....

My JRT sleeps IN my bed, he goes under the duvet the minute i get in, i still dont know how he doesnt suffocate! he gets out when he gets too warm but he acts as a great hot water bottle, its taken the OH some getting used to i must admit!
The lab and collie only get on for cuddles, neither of them like being too warm so dont stick around for long but i like to let them pounce on OH if i get up before him!

mine does this too !!!! not too much in the summer but in the winter at around 3am she will come up and tap me on the shoulder i lift the covers up in under she goes she loves it !!!

she will also do this in the morning in case i turn the light on and will stay there till we are ready to leave the house !

my dog must have such a busy day as all it does is sleep !

Ruby has a bed in my room and I was adament that she would sleep on that, she sleeps on my bed now. TBF she either sleeps right at the end so she is out the way or sleeps next to me but sideways so she only takes up a little bit of the bed, for now....

Unfortunately yes. After having a dalmation which insisited in getting under the duvet I vowed the next dog would sleep at the bottom of the stairs in her own bed . That lasted 2 days hubby decided it would be ok for her to sleep in our room. She - the rottie - sleeps on the bed between us. I need a bigger bed ,perhaps two doubles put together........

I often have three dogs come to bed with me...my hubby grumbles that there's no room for him when he comes in later -- so he tucks littlest one in to her own wicker bed in the bedroom. The border terrier often goes off to the kitchen bed on his own. The poodle stays at my feet all night. It's a shame they don't have any place to sleep (last count I had enough beds for dogs to sleep about eight dogs...).

Erm, yes

This is Popple looking very disapprovingly at me getting up stupidly early for rowing, but on a usual morning she gets up just after 7 when she hears my mother get up. She also does the tapping on my shoulder when she wants me to life the duvet up for her wriggle under

lol to all your stories, mostly ours dont but hubby sometimes gets soft and goes down for them - 2 borders one spends all night wriggling up the bed to get her head on the pillow and be "uman", other lies at bottom of the bed on her own.

both always up when i go back to bed at the weekend after feeding neds

My little westie sleeps on my bed - and unless its winter and he is cold will often jump off the bed during the night and go into his bed - doesn't like early mornings though

But she does look a bit lab-like in that second picture, there is nothing to give perspective and reveal that she is a midget

Someone thought Henry looked like a lab on another forum a while ago!

No I don't, I actually think letting your dog sleep in/on your bed is pretty disgusting. Mine isn't even allowed upstairs.

LOL at this thread... In my house it's more like the Border allows me to sleep in HIS bed. He has slept in there every night for the last 11 years and i'm sure he thinks it really i his room when i go off to uni! There is a 'doggy bed' in my room that i swear has never been used!

He enjoys a lie in.. sometimes. If he wants me to get up he stands on me and barks or occasionly licks my face (ewwww). The Rhodesian Ridgeback is not allowed on the beds anymore because she is far far far too big and she likes to bury herself amongst whatever is on the bed (usually clean clothes waiting to be put away!).
