Do you love your horse? :-)

I loved my first horse immensely - we were soul mates and I was devastated when I lost her aged 14 to laminitis. When I got current mare I told myself she was just a horse and would stay 'outside the back door' emotionally. But she was such a huge character and I have been through so much with her that I now love her just as much as her predecessor. I just can't help myself and know at some point I'll be heartbroken again (probably sooner rather than later as she has Cushings). She is not the least bit affectionate or grateful for all the love I give her though - if she was a man I'd have left long ago!

Love my older mare - she was my first horse and got me back into riding. She's a proper lady and I'll do whatever it takes to give her a long and happy retirement. After not being so sure about my younger mare, I'm now completely smitten - she might be a grump bag (she doesnt like cuddles) but it makes my day when she hangs about after feeding (the others ****** off) and won't leave the gate till ive gone (i know its probably cupboard love ...!).
