Do you need a horse owners "licence" to own a horse in Germany?

I have heard rumours you need to either pass a horse care exam, or get a licence etc before getting your own horse in Germany? I have also heard that you can only keep on a assisted livery yard with a qualified person if you are inexperienced?
Can anyone shed any lights on the rules? This is for a debate discussion for my Stage 4.

Thank you

No but a friend owns a riding school and livery yard in Germany has to be accredited to own and run the yard similar to our BHS run schools. I was over there in 2016 when a short notice check took place and it was very thorough. In addition because she teaches she has to be reassessed every three years (I think) and pass the exams to keep her qualification up. It isn’t cheap and it doesn’t matter whether you are teaching beginners or top level riders if you want to teach you have to renew at your own expense.

1st question: No

2nd question: No.

What might interest you would be our rules for competing/qualifying to compete, registering a yard with the FN, and earning other professional titles.

If only the answers to 1 and 2 were yes ?
There would also be the matter of tracking as well as enforcing though.

If this is for your 4 Management, be aware it's far less about your knowledge, and far more about how you handle the debate and discussion (speaking from experience).

I'd be very surprised if you got the should owners have a license topic and you get down to the nitty gritty details of German rules ;)
