I assume you dont mean lay a surface? If its just the fencing, I would make enquiries with your local planning office as you may well need to apply for change of use. I remember being told that even to put up showjumps in the field (which was agricultural land), if we were doing things by the book, we would need to apply for change of use. I dont think we ever did though. Its a bit of a minefield so do check with your planning office. Just out of interest, can anyone else actually see it as its amazing what people do 'under the radar'
Thanks guys - I have just spoken to Knights Round Pens and it seems so long as you don't fix them down permanently and they can be moved they don't need planning permission. Nosy neighbour problem I'm afraid so we have to do everything by the book. Grrr!
Oh crikey - nosey neighbours. I had those, and they dobbed us in for not moving the portable field shelters. Well thats what they told the council, and when the nice lady from the council came to investigate the field shelters, in her beige mac and wellies, she kind of found a half built arena !! I struggled to hide that one from her. Busted !! Needless to say, we had to apply for retrospective planning which sailed through luckily, so we still got the last laugh
