Do You Offer Livery?

Yes i noticed that too lots of people looking for yards on here... so please if you spot a message pass them in my direction as there are quite a lot of yard on already and many more to come

Bit of a catch 22 situation getting it set up as need the liveries to have the serachers and vice versa but hopefully will get there!!

I also- and this is one of my main aims- want to get the little yards on board many of whom dont advertise because they simply dont know where or are not too hot on the internet!

All that is needed is an email address to set it up so if you know any of these smaller yard owners please pass them the info ;) Or maybe ask your YO (if they are one of these) if you can do one for them!!

Anyone suggest any other popular forums to put a post on to raise awareness of the site??

Brilliant idea! It was a nightmare finding livery when we moved last year. Most of them seem to hide and only go by word of mouth, which is useless when you don't know anyone!

None in my area yet, shall keep an eye on it and hope some more get listed!

Good luck, a really great idea!

Just bumping this up as i am sure there must be some who have not seen it yet!!

Thank you for the fab response so far... lots of listings :D

Have spoken to web man and the town and county will now be added to all search results as requested. Various other moinor changes taking place over ext few days to improve site but not affecting anyone!!

Please keep spreading the word

Great idea - I'll pass the word around nearest yard to me so far is over 23 miles away so definitely some around here that could be interested.

Hope it continues to grow.

Fantastic Idea espcially for those hard to find little yards!

My suggestion would be to have a red and green button/light/words as such to indicate green for livery space available or red for no spaces at present. Saves you as a livery seeker having to phone countless yards to find no spaces are available, although I appriciate this relies on the livery yard owner actually updating their page!

I have passed the link on to my yard owner as we have a part livery space at present and we are a lovely friendly small yard but because we don't advertise it's not been filled yet!

I would also link this to

http://www.theshowring.info/forums/index.php

it is a paid membership board so if you need me to pm the manager then i'm more than happy to do that for you

Perhaps some marketing on Facebook might be an idea? Set up a page or an account for the website. I will put a link to the site itself on my Facebook status for you, perhaps others can do the same until there is something more official on FB to send people to.
I'll also let my YO know about it as I don't think she advertises.

VERY good idea! i would make a fb page, very easy, and free advertising, make a group or something, that way people can join, and then all their horsy friends can too :) as not everyone uses HHO :D

I've put it onto my Facebook status and written it on the wall of a local horsey Facebook group, and sent to a couple of people I know who run or are involved in running yards offering livery services. So hopefully that will help.

ETA: I've just seen that you've made a Facebook page already! I have liked it and will continue to spread the word. :)

Haha... yes i am one step ahead. Facebook page in the name of ******* so please visit the page, 'like' it and share the link with any other groups you may be members of to spread the word!!

Will be promoting it more on Facebook over the next week or so to infiltrate as many places as possible to make them aware but any help greatly appreciated... :)

With regards to liveries i did think of a signal to show if they had spaces but as you say difficult to ensure all are up to date. i am reliant on the fact that yards will list when they have vacancies on their listing but may consider a vacancies yes/no option if everyone seems to keep there page up to date

Not sure how complicated it would be, but what about a 'green light' alert if you had spaces available but it would only last for 2 weeks, so they'd need to refresh it after that time. Would ensure at least that the info wouldn't be out of date.

Do understand re. prices but would be great if it was optional, as I'm sure there are a few yards that would put that info on.

Hello... thanks for the bump!

******* has taken off amazingly (i imagine much to the thanks in some part of the H&H forum people!!) and now has over 120 yards listed in just over a week :D

All suggestions for improvement are being duly noted and considered but due to the complexity of the site and the required coding even minor changes are costly so the more yards i get on the sooner i can start seeking advertisers and the sooner i will have funding for improvements- please dont forget all listings are completely free and 100% better than you would find on most directory sites so improvements will be made but as and when affordable! ;)

I am thinking along the lines of some vacancy indicator and do have several ideas which i will discuss in due course with web man. I am also looking to add the option for people to recognise accreditations with a marker on their listing (such as BHS approved yards etc) as think this would also be an advantage.

Keep the new members coming and dont forget to add photos.... :):):)

Thank you
