Do you own two different breeds of dog?

I have a JRT boy and a possibly lab x pointer rescue girl. She is alot older, and was here first. They get on great, playfight and sleep in the same basket etc. I prefer bigger dogs, like the girl, but we got the JRT as a sort of rescue - from a friend who just couldnt cope with a puppy!

Yup! (Although I am the Mad Springer Woman!) Three Springer Spangles, a Large Munsterlander (who really showed me up at gun dog training today!), Golden Retriever (our "Golden Girl" - always perfect!:D) and a Springador (okay - she's just a mongrel pup - Springer x Labrador - but what a cracking little gun dog she's turning out to be!:D).

An English Bull Terrier and a pressa x lurcher both 5 months old and I wouldnt part with them (she says through gritted teeth) but If i have to buy any more rip stop beds I'll scream!

A totally pointless working Pointer - 14 years old now and the vet thinks may be starting dementia. I'm not so sure - she's never had a brain in her life so don't know what could be going wrong?

And an absolutely awful 5 yr old Lakeland terrorist - never had anything like him and will never have another terrier again because of him! Great fun round the house and a real character, but could never let him off the lead as he has severe protection issues with other dogs. Have been told that may improve when Pointer is no longer with us - he may be protecting her - but I'm not convinced......

Sticking with gundogs in the future, just can't agree on breed........I like flat coats personally....?

i have a shiba:p:D
xmas2008002.jpg

having his evening cuddles with hubby lol:D lovely dog but god damn he can yowl:eek: and can't let the little devil off the lead either because he has selective deafness:rolleyes:
Also have a bullmastiff and a JRT, i like to mix my breeds lol:D

Snap :D i have two of the little cuties :D

I have two shelties and a rottie. Got hooked on the shelties after my Mum got one, so I got my own, and then the kennel called me and asked if I wanted another dog who hated the show ring. They are so smart, devoted and cute - can't imagine life without them!

The rottie I got when I moved into a house by myself. My parents would never let me have a GSD/Dobe/Rottie (savage, treacherous dogs etc etc) so I got my first rottie from the pound when I got a place on my own. He was a sweetheart but died of heart failure soon after. Rehomed the next one as a failed showdog and she is a star :) I also felt much safer living with her - she has a huge bark, but is a soft touch really. I would like a GSD but OH would rather have another rottie. I think I will get a dog this time though - the bitch loves my OH more than she loves me :p

Rottweiler - rescue, I lost my shephed and the rotti was the only guarding breed replacement my mams rescue had, I took her and never looke back, can not see me without one now.

Whippets- rescues but a persoanl choice, I love whippets, they are fab versatile fun loving dogs.

Lurchers- rescues, I love lurchers and OH used to work them and they are his preferred dog.

Japanese Akita- rescue, kept to stop her ending up in wrong hands, they are not for everyone, but I love them, their traits, looks, character, they are my type of dog.

German Wire haire pointer-rescue, not my choice, had some horrendous behavioural problems and I dont want them undoing again.....not a breed I would choose to own or would again.

Cavalier-rescue, ended up staying, im not a little breed person but if u are going to have a little breed then you cannnot get better than a little cavi.:)

Greyhound-would have a million of them around the place I am smitten by them all!

Collies-have 2 at the moment. chalk and cheese the older boy has brains and good looks the younger has the looks...still waiting for the brains to fall into place but hes only just turned 1 so heres hoping;)

Have a bull terrierx lurcher-total couch potato, loves people and is the sweetest hulk of a dog! total bimbo but I love her to pieces:o

Collie xspaniel- this dog would get me hung! think bill sykes and bullseye- well this one is never far from me...even when I hid in the hedge from visiting vote wanting politicians...she sat right next to me:rolleyes::o

Cairn x total bundle of energy-Im pretty sure she doesnt sleep?

Always wanted EBT but everytime I get round to thinking about one another rescue falls into my path! Sister has had GSD's really lovely breed and wouldnt say no if one came my way;)
But Id like a dogue de bordeaux or an english mastiff,or a ridgeback, or a saluki,or an irish wolfhound (my landlord has puppies!!!) or a staffie or a ...I best stop now:o:rolleyes:

I have a rottiexgsd who is a huge softy but very protective of her people, a huskyxbsd who is a willful little sod but loves his cuddles and running with me, I had got him to do agility with but its not his thing, and a Czech wolfdogxnorthern inuit I got given after he had a rough start, who is an absolute pet and likes to have conversations with people and sing along to the music channel (good job the house next door is mostly empty :/ )

Like Lexie, we have two mongrels . . . both rescues, both border collie crosses - one is a border collie/jrt cross (scarily clever, desparate to please, neurotic, territorial and prone to chasing/rounding things/people up), and the other is a border collie/springer spaniel cross (happy-go-lucky, friendly, outgoing, busy and just generally a joy to have around/take places). We adopted Fred first as a 10-week-old pup (he is now 5) and got Daisy to keep him company at 8-weeks old (she is now 2). Fred was a whim - happened to be at the shelter and he was the last in the litter (baaaaaaaaad way to choose a dog - I wouldn't be without him but he's not an easy dog) . . . Daisy was picked/chosen specifically for her temperament as a companion for Fred and is, in that respect, absolutely perfect.

Although I love collie crosses now that we have two of them, I didn't particularly set out to own one . . . we were looking more for size (our house was quite small so big dogs were out) and temperament that suited our lifestyle (active and busy and outdoorsy).

You've just described our Daisy . . . she's my shadow and frets if I am out of the house or out of sight. Bless her cottons.

Just an IWS at the moment but would like another smaller breed but not a terrier. Thinking of another spaniel but OH only fancies a springer but they seem a bit mad. But it will have to wait until after we have had M-in-law recuperating here with us after her op.

Just got one GSD at the moment, hopefully another in the spring. Have always had GSDs in the family with various other breeds. My dad bred and showed whippets, and my mum had l/c chihuahuas. We have also had JRTs in the past, and my most recent "little" dog was a Lancashire Heeler, but no one had told her she was little. Dobiegirl I will be consumed with jealousy if you get a Heeler pup.:)

MM We are going to Worcestershire tomorrow afternoon when daughters boyfriend finishes work to see a dog and bitch puppy.

They were advertised on this site and look lovely all health tested/DNA and the breeder has two breeding bitches and sounds a lovely lady.

We have a cage and Im just waiting on Caylas puppy guide that she promised but hasnt materialised just yet.

We were taking Diesel & Darcy to a fun dog show on Saturday but that has been shelved.

Im sure we will by one and then I will try to post pics.:D

I am so excited as I miss those little/big dogs.:D

Can't see you coming home without one, heelers are gorgeous pups! Will expect lots of pics, and no doubt lots of nagging from my family when they see said pics. Its quite an extreme way to get out of the sausage retrieving competition. :p

MM Because you dont see them every day advertised and not having big litters it has been difficult sourcing one that is not up North.

I dont think there is any fear of coming home without one:D. and cant wait for the first local to ask if its Darcys puppy:D

We might still pop up to the dog show on Saturday for an hour just to show our support but we wont be going into the sausage competition.:D

All mine are different :)

Pip -Lab

Inca - Sprocker

Milky - Lurcher - Collie, greyhound, whippet

Flynn -Lurcher -Deerhound, greyhound, collie, whippet , beddlington (total mix but excels at his job)

Jessie - Lurcher - saluki, greyhound, whippet (soon to be put to a saluki, greyhound first cross)

Debating on a springer, golden retriever or newfoundland next.

Well we went to Wiltshire for ours, and I only live about an hour away from Lancashire :D Definitely think you will get the Darcy pup comment, I used to all the time with the GSDs.

I have a Yellow labrador and a Shar Pei cross Boxer. They accidentally had puppies this year too and they are a sight to see lol (: If people want to see them il post some pictures

Would love to see some pics!!!

Some odd crosses on here, I'm quite surprised by people that own a large dog and a small dog. Aren't you worried the small one might get eaten? :D!!

don't know if i could cope with 2 moulting at the same time lol:eek: it's unusual to find someone who even knows what they are let alone own 2 of them!! most people think he's some kind of fox or a 'baby husky'

Lol, both of them are moulting at the moment...poor dyson is working overtime :D I was going to get Isabel a tshirt made with .... "No i am not a husky" on it :D

lol in our house you got more worries of the small dog biting the big dog!!! mind you big dog is only a year old, i keep telling the little one to watch his manners because i have visions of big dog picking him up and flinging him over the fence one day:eek::eek:
