I have a westie and a scottie. It really winds me up when people call westies scottie dogs. They dont even look like each other and have very different personalities.
Do you own two different breeds of dog?

I'm quite surprised by people that own a large dog and a small dog. Aren't you worried the small one might get eaten?

I have a Border Collie - for working the sheep, a GSD because they are my 'best' breed though I had a long break from them because I never liked the breeding lines of so many. A rescue lab has also taken residence.
Then there are the terrors, five JR's, two Border Terriers, two terriers of Patterdale extraction, another elderly Lab and as if that wasn't enough two couple of Fox Hound pups arrived this afternoon.
Most are rescues or inherited.

I have always had Border Collies,and have two at present.I also acquired a blonde Labrador who was my daughters dog,and my what a difference.The Collies can be relied on to behave themselves and they only want to please me,chase tennis balls and jump the showjumps.Blond Lab,on the other hand,steals,ransacks peoples picnics,avoids being caught if she is on a mission (usually involving food),sometimes chases the horses ,and can be relied on to embarrass me.She responds to training very differently to the Collies and can be easily bored.Have tried giving her jobs but her concentration span is limited,and her attention wanders to other things.Think i will stick to Collies in future,the Lab's a bit of a culture shock.

I have two lurcher bitches, both saluki/greyhound, bothe rescues. Also a JRT, and my OH has a springer.

2 Collies, 1 GSD and a Boxer, we got Collies because they are good noise makers against intruders at the yard, got given the GSD and the Boxer

Yes. A Red Setter and a Field Spaniel. Both a bit crazy and stupid but both are very loving and affectionate .
The Spaniel (surprisingly) is not a bad guard dog.

We have two spins and a border collie, we did have a JRT, collie and spin, which used to course comments! The collie is 15yrs now so doesn't go out for walks any more, the back end can,t cope, I plan to get a border terrier or another JRT when we loose her.

I have 3 breeds,
1 whippet
2 springers
1 rodent - Jack russell
we call the rodent hitler, she is a evil, but also incredibly intelligent, she watches tv, and loves watching tv and videos on the computer, I have to draw up a chair for her to sit on or she gets on my lap and her head is in the way.
The whippet is my shadow, she hides herself away on the bed if I am not there and sits right next to me on my handbag so I can't go out when I come in, when we take her for her walks she brings all the others down like rabbits
The springers were rescues: gilly was so aggressive and both were badly treated before we had them, he is such a softie now, he will look at you and keep raising his paw, looking at you with doe eyes, he gets embarrased when the camera comes out and barks the house down.
Springer 2 is archie, he was the other way to gilly when we got him (they both came together) he was a wreck, scared to hell and nervous. Now, he reminds me of the dog Nana, in hook. All todlers love him and he loves them, he is a solid tank and we nick named him a baby rhino! He also loves Duffy, he will sing on command, it started with a TV advert (the one where the car acts a bit like a dog... renault I think) but he loves Duffy, when you play Mercy, his ears prick up on the first bar and on the second, he starts to sing!, about 10 seconds later we have a full on choir with the whippet and the JR joining in with gilly looking on in disgust!
3 totally different breeds, but they all make a fantastic group of friends with such different characters, we love them all

I have 2 scotties, a westie and a lakeland terror.
The lakie is by far the worst dog we've had! She so loving but has such a temper on her! Bites, growls, snaps and very much enjoys legging it over the 6ft garden fence!! She's from working parents so I guess its to be expected - she is a very good worker though and enjoys going rabbiting and is obsessed with tennis balls.
The scotties are so well behaved, if a little cheeky. Wouldn't be without one now, they are very loyal and easy to train.
The westie was a rescue and I cab honestly say I would not have another even if you paid me. He's yappy, grumpy (tho he is 11), lazy and a bit lacking in the brain department!
