Just wondering if anyone pays for a helping hand with their horses, mucking out, turning out, etc etc

What services do you ask for and how much do you pay or would you pay?

Thanks

I do, I pay for my girl to be turned out on weekdays. She goes out at 6 am with the YO's Horses. It's £1 for turnout. I do it because it saves money in the long run, It takes 10 mins to drive to yard, so by time I've drove there and back I've spent more then a pound in petrol!

Plus I hate getting up that early :p

I do jobs like this for pep, would say the payment partly depends if they are coming just to do yours or are at the yard and helping you out occansionally if this makes sense? If it's more that they are coming to do your horses then it should be a wage per hour IMO, this can vary slightly and they may know what they would like? I tend to say £8 or if more than 3 hours is £7.5 this is the min some pep pay more :)

Yep, turn out or bring in £1 + £0.50 per rug change so one off one on = £1 (includes feet picking).
Mucking out £5, skip out £3
People on yard also pay extra for grooming, exercising, bathing, plaiting etc and its completley DIY so grooms work on a freelance basis (including me at the moment!). Some charge £10 a day for turn out + rugs, muck out and bring in + rugs for holiday cover/day cover. Most owners happy to pay this :)

Our yard provides services which are invaluable!

We pay £2.50 for turn-out or bring-in (includes feeding, rug changes, hooves picked out, boots changed etc) and £4.50 for muck-out.

This is the exact same situation as our yard except rather than freelance grooms it tends to be other liveries that do it for each other. I regularly look after others horses and for me the money is only their so im not taken advantage of as its never a hassle for me from putting someones horses out to looking after them for 2 weeks while their sunning it up!

I pay my stable fairy to care for baby at weekends as I go to fellas - lol im sure she doesnt charge me what she should but I have peace of mind as I trust my stable fairy 110% and having had a blind horse she understands baby's problems - she cares for baby like her own - who are so so so well looked after but doesnt try to step on my toes - shes just the kindest loviliest caring person and becuase of her I enjoy my weekends with my yummy gorgeous fella so RESULT lol :)

I pay £5 a day to someone to do poo picking for 2 horses during the summer and £10 a day for mucking out, haynets and feeds for the 2 in the winter.
