do you plait on the day or the night before?

If I'm plaiting I always do it on the morning, because I only use elastic bands so it only takes me 20minutes. If I was doing them with thread then I'd probably do them the night before to save time (and to get more of a sleep in!!)

Always plait the night before, he's a nightmare on show days and you'd never get him done. Just easier to do him the night before.

I plait, but dont roll them up. Then I just re-do them the next morning (re-plait and roll up) so any frizzy ones are neatened up, I find its easier and a lot quicker to do them once they've already been in plaits all night (I wet the mane before I did them and again in the morning). I dont like using hoods and find the horse normally rubs his mane at some point during the night so this way works best for me.

I plait the night before. My horse has the worlds thickest mane so it always takes a while even with bands and I find I am always more stressed on the morning of a show, my horse also has a sixth sense for going out and won't stand still.
I spray his mane with hair spray and put a hood over the top. There are usually a couple that have come out in the morning but it's much easier to redo a couple then plait the whole lot!

I sew mine as his mane is so thick. You can manipulate them more with thread do they look neater. Entirely depends what time I have to leave. If its early then I do the night before, if not then I do it on the morning of the show. Iv got a show Sunday that is only 20 mins up the road but an early leave and I'm looking after some other horses so I will bath and plait the night before and hood him up. He's grey so usually Washing the poo stains off the next day!!!
