Yous may remember me posting a while ago about a yearling that i bought, he arrived at the yard in poor condition and yous were all shocked and annoyed.

Wanted to show you a picture i took of him yesterday, hes now hit 14hh (was 13.1hh when i got him). We had to clip him as he was covered in lice and ringworm.

Heres a before and after picture

Wow, you must be so proud of yourself. I can't believe how great he looks now, and how terrible he looked such a short time ago. Well done!!!!!!!!!!! He's a credit to all your hard work.

Ive started mouthing him aswell, he was also gelded. He accepted the bit so well, just looked at me as if to say "What do you want me to do now".

Hes soooo lazy, just like the rest of mine. My friend hadnt seen him in ages and i brought her to see him. She didnt even recognise him. Hes such a lovely big boy, wish i got all of him, you should see those feathers!

Hes my big boy, ones that turned him down before me are now kicking themselves. Hunted for a good field, worked with him everyday and put him on young stock mix, it really built him up. He is a complete coward, everything scares him and he is so clumsy, trips over his own feet!

Wow, he looks like a different horse. How lucky for him that he found you. Well done you, what a super boy

His showname is Check Mate cause of his chest lol. Im taking him to a show in 2 weeks time. Doing a few inhand classes with him.

The thing im laughing about now is all the people (friends and family) that said i was a stupid cow for buying him as hes was "Ugly" and "fit for slaughter". Ha whoses laughing now

Almost bought a tear to my eye. You have bought him back from what looks like starvation and the most terrible neglect. Lots of hard work and constant worry. Am I right in saying that you will never part with him?

Oh goodness no i couldnt sell him now lol. Im just looking for a full length photo, i know i have one here somewhere, it shows off his feathers.

The farrier laughed at the feathers, said he never seen a horse like it, was hard to get his feet done lol

Hes got some belly now, the back doesnt look bent. If anyone is in northern ireland, your welcome to come see him

Hes a big softie, ive never seen a horse that is such a big suck. He has to put his head over my shoulder so i rub his face. He lifts his offside front leg when he gets his dinner.

He stands so still when im grooming him, he walks perfect on the lead, hes just gets scared of everything, the legs go out to the side lol, we past an empty 2 litre carton of milk once, you would have thought it was going to eat him.

We have electric fencing up and hes so silly that he puts himself against it and just stands there!
