Marley?? my little troublesome munchkin
well just fancied giving you all a teeny weeny update. im not sure how much you remember but i bought Marley off a notoriously horrendous dealer (i didnt know this at the time) and he was in a terrible condition. had huge mounting issues and within a few months became very very panicked under saddle but mounting issues had been solved. we had everything checked and things came back fine. and we made the decision to turn him away for a year while i went to college too.
so he went into the vets not too long ago for a lameness work up as the result of a kick and all was found to be ok including back scans and xrays and a visit from the physio.
and on monday....we started him up again after roughly 18 months off
and well hes a super star!!!! infact i dont believe superstar even comes close!!!! on monday the horse that has done next to nothing for a year lunged quietly and sensibly and quickly relearnt voice commands (we now remember what means slow down and what means go faster at least
) and he happily stood next to a block, next to a block with me sitting on it, next to a block with my mum standing on it scratching and patting his back, next to it with mum standing rubbing his other side and stood with mum leaning her tummy on him and rubbing his other side too
what a SOOOOPER STAR! on tuesday he did some very clever ground work like hed been doing it every day for years and for the first time in the time ive had him he allowed me to hold and stroke his ears while we were working together.....the grin on my face was unreal

on wednesday he had the day off and just had a good old clean up and yesterday he went for a long walk in hand and was a perfect gentleman and next week hes getting shoesies on again so.....i ask you all...3 cheers for Marley mooo......hip hip...hooray
and piccies the before.....
and the after
